All they said was true! In two years I have never been home late once, and usually I'm home about 10 hours early everytime! I take all days off at once like I'm going home 05/14 to 05/20 and they don't have a problem with it.

Our school toured the Olathe terminal last week. The recruiting manager gave the tour. I kinda put him on the spot with a few BS questions, but he had very good answers for everything.

One of my classmates was previuosly turned down by a recruiter, but after talking to this guy (Dean?), he got a prehire.

He touched on the lease program briefly, but didn't in anyway even encourage it. He just simply said it was an option if you wanted it.

Going to start orientation on the 21, unless someone cancels, then I'll start the 14th.

I worked for TransAm back in '02. I always got a kick of how they say they have guaranteed hometime. The guaranteed hometime is only 4 days a month and you have to give them 8 days notice of when you want to go home. You can only have one hometime request in the computer at any given time so if you're home for Thanksgiving and want Christmas off you have to wait until you get back into the truck and by the time that you do that, every other driver that didn't go home for Thanksgiving has their hometime request in for Christmas and chances are you're gonna be S.O.L on that holiday. If you come off of hometime from Thanksgiving and you do get to have Christmas off, you're staying out until Chirstmas Eve. I mean 4 days a month, GUARANTEED!!! Are you serious? Thats a joke especially when you have a wife and kids back home. Hometime is why I left TA. Plenty of other carriers that get you home weekly.

Find out if this guy's name really is Dean, please. If so, ask him if he was a driver for them and if he used to be a pilot for United Airlines and the Navy prior to that and went to CDL school at MTC in the St. Louis area. If he answer yes to all of them, then he's a guy I went to CDL school with.

That was back in 02 right? and yes it is 4 days a month but this is where your knowledge or lack thereof stops. Talk with your fleet manager and he can make notes on your screen, I already have hometime scheduled for July 4th and haven't been home yet! I was also able to take Christmas and Thanksgiving off last last year so no problem there either! Also depending on where a person lives some companies can't get you home weekly, so please try to give up to date information, Thank you

I believe it is the guy in this picture: Not sure, but that looks like him

He said that he worked for TransAm for 18yrs.

If that's him, it's not the same guy I once knew. I don't even know if he's still with Trans Am.

Then you must be special or the exception to the rule. Hometime scheduled for July 4th? Well let me tell ya, when I was there if you scheduled hometime for July 4th this far out, you're stayin out till July 4th cause you could only have one hometime scheduled in the computer at any time. Now I take great offense to someone trying to be a smart alec and basically saying I have no idea what I"m talking about. I do know what I'm talking about and it is STILL the same policy. I just talked to a recruiter yesterday so don't try to blow smoke up my ##### and make yourself out to be doing something that you're probably not. No one likes a "one upper" type person. And that information is up to date, pal.

First off I am not your pal, and yes you can have only one home time in the system at a time BUT all you have to do is talk with your fleet manager and 99% of the time they will make a note on your screen and put it in for you that is how it does done. I could care less what a recruiter says your fleet manager is the one that can override the cpu and lastly I don't consider myself a "one upper" type person you are just throwing out things that did not work for you 6 years ago we have no idea how your relationship with your fleet manager was but by reading your other posts on different subjects it seems kinda negative.
