Congrats Majik Lady! The time really will fly by during your training. I know I was majorly dreading 4 weeks of it here but the time has truly gone by like a flash. I am sure you will meet a great bunch of people in your class like I did. If some of the training doesn't come to you quickly don't get discouraged, if it was easy there wouldn't be a school for it! Work hard and I am sure we will be seeing you on the road in no time!

Thanks everyone 1/2 the task down 1/2 to go....leave for 13 days of training for the pre-trip test in TN next week. The steps taken now are different than the other academy training locations, but this way does cut some of the training class time.

And Polk Salit you are enjoying the prize this off day (YOUR FAMILY ) is whatz driving you to pass these tests like you have....my family is driving me as well.... thats what keeps me focused on my real goal.

Polk, would've sent a PM but my message count is too low. They were kind of vague on what to take to orientation, do you know what all we should be taking? Are we having to pay for the hotel or no? Should I be driving myself and just leaving my truck at the terminal or should I just have someone drop me off?

Not sure if you know anymore than I do on this stuff...

They should have given you a contact person...if not you can call Drivers Central and they can also answer those ?'s you have. I bug them all the time (you wont know if you dont ask). Also if you are going out with the mentor right after orientation it is wise to have some one drop you off at the terminal.

Hay Wildcat! I'm not really sure but I am taking my truck the first time being that I live 250 miles from the terminal! I don't want to be stuck there if I need something or whatever. SWIFT is paying for the room according to TDA. Majik Lady is probably right, it wouldn't hurt to call and find out. I'm taking everything I would need to be gone for two or three weeks ,if not more! I'm just jumping in feet first and make adjustments from there!!!

Im proud of you both Wildcat and Polk Salit....learn learn learn all needed to be successful out there on the road. Im leaving Saturday to start the 28th I still have to go to the driving portion of the training since I have my CDL permit.
