Whatever company you do go with, good luck with yourself. Sounds like you have enough experience and understanding to make any company happy to have you.

We are about to get rid of a couple hundred more trucks soon, but I believe it all depends on what area you live in. Some area's are more strict on how many drivers they can bring on then others (Michigan was insane for a while, we had big cut backs there). Easiest way is just ask the recruiter, they will try their best to get you in somewhere. Tell them your open to work for any terminal if the one closest to you is tight. In the big picture, your "home terminal" location honestly doesnt get you home faster, but the people and cultures at each terminal are different.

Why is it that all the Swift terminals have different policies? It's almost like you don't work for Swift if the terminal you're at isn't your "home" terminal.

Personally, I wish they were all like Edwardsville, KS where I'm currently waiting on a load. They treat the drivers with respect, have clean showers, they tell you where to drop a trailer so the next driver knows where it is AND they assign mt's.

Would be nice if all the terminals followed suit.

All terminals are scheduled to do the same thing with their trailers. I know my terminal is working on it now, its just more difficult because we share the terminal with Central Freight, and they also lease part of the yard out.

The company policies are the same for all terminals, so is human nature. Some DM's enforce all the policies, some dont. The ones that dont will usually have it bite them in the tail at some point in their career. I also like Edwardsville. Lots of good people there.

Keep a watch on your usage so you do not exceed your allotment, because then you will really get a shock when the bill comes.

Talk about sticker shock!
I just got my bill, $39.00 turned into $450.00 real quick! 50 mb is next to nothing for streaming video. I went ahead and up graded to 5 gigs at $59.00 a month, hopefully that will be enough! Verison adjusted my bill and took most of the extra billing off so now it's back to what I expected. After all is seed and done, I still think It's worth the $59.00 to have high speed internet when I want it! Thanks for the tip! Polk Salit out!

Well Polk I been reading your life and time with Swift and sounds like your doing good with a great attitude so keep it up.

As for Verison I have it and really pleased with the service. I started out with the 59.00 plan, and it never been a problem. My Cell phone also great and started off with 2000 free minutes and change to the newest deal of unlimited after using all my minutes having to make calls to Brokers, dispatch and the owner of the truck I was driving at the time.

Swift has gotten a bad rep on here, but I would put Swift above one company I drove for this past Nov to Jan. But you have shown a different side of it all..

Good Luck

I agree the company I just left is no Swift, I had better pay with Swift and they reimbursed in a timely manner. Like you I used up all my minutes calling Brokers, dispatch, shippers and consignees. I really got to miss qual-com
