As an older experuienced driver,I did 4 months with Swift.Had to get away from there it was a PITA.Yeah I stayed out 3 weeks at a time ten they wanted me to take one or two days off and go out for another 3 weeks. As much as I dislike Swift ,I am glad to see some of you are happy with them. Swift, being one of the bigger companies is not gonna go away. I am retired now and still maintain my CDL,just in case, but I would never consider Swift. Best of luck to those of you who are happy at Swift.

I would say bring a pen, note book, drivers license, social security card that's not bound in plastic, and pre read the DMV commercial drivers hand book so you won't be hearing it all for the first time, this will help when it comes time to take tests, and that's about it. They do check you'r health pretty close, blood pressure, eyes, ect. If you read some of my past posts you should get a pretty good idea of how it goes. I'm in a school that trains directly for SWIFT, so it should be pretty close to the same. I read somewere you had to wear collard shirts and pants, but that wasn't the case hear. shorts and tee shirts were fine. Oh and don't be late, especialy the first day or two, they sent 3 guys home for being 5 minuets late! I think that's how they cut class size down if they have too many people! Just make sure you'r recored and pee is clean and you'll be fine. I hope this helps good luck!
thanx for the info. How can you be late to class if Swift provides the transportation to the center from the hotel? I would not be late. And i sure hope they hand out alot of information so it can be studied back at the room. I sent you a PM, but not sure if you'll get it seeing how you dont have 50 posts yet. Where did you go for training??

Hay bud! I hope all goes well for you. I did get you'r PM and I feel you'r pain bro! Times are tough but things WILL work out for you! I hope you don't mind, my wife and I will pray for you!? I am going to school at TDA, Truck Drivers Academy in Sacramento Ca. They train directly for SWIFT I'm told you don't have to pay the $150.00 sitting fee in Ca. TDA stoped providing a shuttle about 3-4 weeks ago, i'm not sure why? And yes, they will give you plenty of info to studie. Just apply you'r self, betwen the DMV hand book and the pre-tests you'l be fine!

What do you do when you live in Phoenix? Can they still keep me running and away from here? I don't mind being gone for several weeks at a time, but I'd like to stay out of Cali as much as possible. I tend to think the less Cali I see the better.

Hi Majik Lady!
The school has no computer available, but the hotel we are staying in has one in the lobby. WI FI is available also and it's free! I brought my laptop witch I highly recommend if you have one as the lobby computer can often be unavailable.
