Arrow Trucking (Tulsa, OK)

I am starting this thread for Arrow drivers to post positive and negative comments about the company in hopes that Arrow personnel will see these and take pride in the comments or look into the issues and make changes.

I have been with the company for 8 months now as OTR and have been very happy. I average 3K miles a week and although treated like a number, my pay is correct and ontime without error. I highly recommend them to anyone new to trucking.

I am going to start the L/O program soon and will update everyone on how things go. I have a legal background and have read the contract thoroughly. It is in my opinion a fair contract and the trucks are priced competitively for the market and interest rates are similar to all the companies out there selling used trucks to drivers with decent credit.\

The newest Arrow policy is to govern all trucks at 65 and used to be 65+5. From the company standpoint 65 makes sense because it saves fuel. They could have went lower but they chose to look out for the drivers and I respect that very much. There also adding wireless internet and washer/dryers at all terminals to make up a little bit for the lower speed. I am kind of looking at this as if I was an O/O I would not go above 65 anyway because of the waste of fuel so why should a company be any different. Thanks Arrow for compromising because I think if trucks were governed any lower than 65 then I, and most other drivers would have some serious issues.

Actually as an O/O you should try running at 60mph for a month or so with different loads and see if there is an improvement on your fuel mileage when compared to running at 65mph.
If you drive in California and/or Oregon you get used to setting the cruise at 60mph and watching the scenery instead of looking for the cops.
After awhile you get used to it and can make more money if you get a decent fuel surcharge.
What kind of fuel mileage are you getting running at 65mph??
