Smile Thank you Crete Carrier!

Thank you Crete for giving me a job that starts me at .41 cpm. Thank you for putting me through the most professional orientation I have ever experienced. Thank you for paying me practical miles, detention pay, and treating me with sincere respect on the qualcomm. Thanks for asking me instead of telling me. Thanks for including in your supplied directions whether or not overnight parking is available at the customer. Thanks for having good maintenance shops that will actually get you in and out. Thanks for having maintenance people actually listen to you and try to fix your problems.

I worked for PAM for my first year experience and I can say without doubt that I will be with Crete for as long as they will have me. Everything I complained about at PAM while working there..Crete does right.

I guess the only thing about Crete I can think of that bothers me..is I cant use the qualcomm while the truck is moving. Thats it..that what I have to complain about.

Driving is the toughest profession I have ever had..it seems that at least at Crete they treat you like a professional.

I dont know friend...it seems the same as looking at a atlas or thumbing through a truckstop book..or reading the notes you made on how to get to where you are going. Besides the unit fits perfectly in the scoop of the steering wheel, almost like it was made to be there.

Its always good to see positive posts about a company. Seems Crete knows how to get it right.

There will be times when you'll have to drive your Big truck, as well as all the other vehicles and pedestrians in your immediate area, and be a secretary readin' paperwork all at the same time.

It's better not to be distracted like that, but
I also realize that SOMEtimes it's the way it's gotta be done to GET 'er done.
Have y'all been to the Big Apple in a Big Truck, ...... yet?

I trust you'll be careful out there.

Highirish--not to rain on your parade, as you have a great attitude, but just always watch your back. I lived in Lexington till just recently and drove for Crete. Had a great fleet manager in Indy, got a newer Shaffer truck since they didn't have any Crete trucks available...but there are certain folks in Lincoln that will pretend to "ask" you to do things and blackball you on the back end if you're not careful. Also hometime was always an issue for me--I could put in for it at my home terminal in Indy weeks/months in advance, but the dispatchers would always seem to overlook the notes on my truck to get me home. On more than one occasion, I'd be stuck in Northern California on Wedneday needing to be home in KY on Friday. As you drive in the industry this seems to be the norm with many of the carriers today. I now drive for a small outfit in North Florida hauling water via tanker.. Just be careful--I got blackballed by one in Lincoln and they lost a good driver in the process.

Crete is good to work for and they do have faults, but the good outweighs the bad IMO. Also, its good to work for a financially stable(debt free) company...especially in times like these. I agree with their QC being turned off while the truck is moving, but thats another topic. Trainers have the QC on at all times. Take care!

Easy friend-folks just need to hear and see all sides of it-I posted positive attributes as well--BTW highirish--stay away from the breakrooms at the terminals a lot of negativity and false rumors start from there.
