Was reading your story on here Biker and glad to hear you had a positive experience and seems you have realized what many have realized, the CB Rambos, Truck Stop Commandos and Super Truckers who think they can do things their way or the "old school" way in todays world with todays laws and crack downs are a dying, obsolete breed. Each company has its ups and downs and companies as large as CRE or Prime Inc.(who I was with) are not going to have 100% satisfaction rating among its employees. Most of the people who would post something positive can't because they are busy working and making money the right way and legal way as well as taking what time they do have for rest, laundry, talking to family, etc, etc.

Soooooooooooo... What's been going on? Finished my 15,000 miles with a trainer (actually stuck with him another couple of weeks so he could go on vacation without tagging another trainee before he left). So I actually had over 25,000 miles when I got off the truck. Just got back from South Carolina this morning and the 1st seat had to take his truck back into the shop before the warranty runs out. Aw well. Would have liked to turn around for another long run, but I can use the reset and time to take care of a bit of business.

One of the things I've noticed is those that are happy with the company follow the company rules and run legal. Those that like to play "Super Trucker" and do things THEIR way are those that are always saying F this and F that. Know what? From what I've seen so far, this is a decent company to work for as long as you keep in mind that you DO work for the company.

It's been a fun trip so far, and I expect good things. Will report back as soon as I'm done with the trainee thing and get my own truck. No, I'm not going to lease. As nice as they make the numbers look, I know I have a lot to learn yet and will do so on the company dime, rather than my dime. Hopefully will have my truck be mid month next month.
How much were you paid total for those 25,000 miles?

Have CDL, will work for Experience :)

Yeppers, with this resession and the hiring cuts, I will be signing up with CR England just so I can get a job and gain some experience for a year.

Everyone else seems to be not hiring now and I cant wait till next year to get a job

So Biker, hope you can keep us updated and I will toss my coins in here too.
I get my CDL this week if the tester shows up then will get CRE to send me my ticket,,,,,,,,, "cuz I've got a bus to ride"

I can understand how you feel. I was always told to first get the experience and then be selective on the job you prefer to do regardless of the economy. I read on MSN money an article yesterday where the author speculates the initial signs of an economic recovery may appear in June, 2009. I certainly hope so.

Best of luck & keep us posted !

Not yet Tina, But by next week I should have a bit more to report, since I have My CDL-A and all endorsements and will be heading to training.
