Star Ruan

Ruan recently took over our feed haul in Florida and so far I like driving for the company. This is a day haul so I'm home every night. They said we would be getting new trucks and they arrived this week. I haven't gotten to drive mine yet but should be able to any day now. They pay us well and we get a good benefits package too.

I started driving trucks in 1969 when I was just 17 right out of high school. I know new drivers can't do it that way now, probably a good thing I suppose. I prefer a day haul to OTR so driving for Ruan fits well for me. Our local terminal has just six drivers so it's like working for a small company in that we are able to have a good close relationship with our boss. So far he has been great about time off that I had scheduled with TMC they had our haul before Ruan took it over. My wife and I had a trip to Mexico planned and the new boss said "no problem", I liked that. Now I have to fly home to Oregon because of my mothers failling health and again "no problem". Not bad for a company I have worked for, for less than six months. Ruan operates in all 48 states I believe and most hauls are day hauls so if someone is interested in being home nightly you might check their web site to see if there is something in your area. I like driving for them so far and expect that to continue.
