Tyson is great

I left Crete and went to Tyson and it has been great. Crete is a good company but I was going to have to give up my dedicated run and did not want to go back to running se or national. I get home more and do not have to ask for hometime. It is automatic. You are a person and not a number. One of the main things is hauling your own product.

they have good equipment. (volvo 670 and international's) I live in Athens, AL pretty close to Huntsville. I have not had any prob's with the trailers. They are putting apu's on the trucks and do not bother you about idling if u do not have one also they have truck washes at a lot of yards so u can get the truck washed

doboy,

thanks for the information. I hope you continue to be happy at Tyson. Btw, I thought Crete let you take your truck home.

If i went back to running national I could take the truck home with me, but they said I live too far away from GM to b able 2 take trk home w/this account. the gm account gave me a lot of miles and was 95% d/h. I spent 4-5 wks out and then took 3-4 days off. I do not have anything bad 2 say abt crete. It wrkd out grt my time there but now i will make decent miles b home more n haul my company's products. (beef, pork, r chicken)

How long have you been at Tyson, and how much delay time have you spent at their warehouses waiting for the load to get ready? That was a huge problem when I worked for another company.

a couple of months and has far as the delay time goes they give us a time that the plant has to get the load done in and it has been pretty consistent with that time. some plants are better that others. Russellville AR has been the best with d/h. From what I have heard I would not want to pick up from Tyson as an outside carrier. I heard it is a lot of sitting around waiting for product or to b ld w product. It is not a job for everybody but I was looking for a dedicated run or to haul your company's product and decided to try this and love it. The second best job since i have started driving. The first was hauling office furniture for a company called revest which is owned by steelcase. They eventually got rid of their drivers to give it to outside carriers.
