| Daily Dispatch Services Hello everyone, this is my first post here and I guess I should share a little about myself and my experience/s (or lack of...lol) since I've been in the industry. I just currently left Swift Transportation after ~6 years, to be honest I don't really understand why they have such a bad rap... I mean, just after 6 yrs w/ them I was able to buy my new kenworth almost outright... that's right... they obviously kept me rolling. The only thing raw I have to say about them is they kind of kept/keep the driver/s ignorant to everything that pertains to being an owner operator....I mean, they basically do everything for you!! ...so needless to say that since I've been out on my own it's been one learning curve after another. I was checking out Craigslist a few months back and saw a posting by a company (Daily Dispatch Services) that was taking on owner operators...but not a trucking company.... they basically do the functions of a trucking company (planning, dispatching etc) but they are actually employed by the driver who is basically buying their services to do everything for them ie: invoicing, planning, dispatching, setting up brokers, handling all paperwork etc etc.... basically what swift did for me while I was w/ them.. they helped me get my own authority and have kept me moving since....very pleased with the service so far. I know that I don't have much comparison since I've been with just these two companies but I'm doing more of what I need to be doing (driving) and less of messing w/ all the paperwork, phone calls, finding loads and all that BS...I know a good thing when I see it and I'm doing very well considering. Just thought I'd pass the good word on... until next time. Newbe |
