I thought they were opening a terminal in Columbus. If not in Columbus, where is the losest terminal to Columbus?

There's a drop yard in Dayton, and another one in Akron. Closest terminal is Gary.

I drove for Roehl on their 7/7 program and was disptched out of Marshfield ,WI. However I operated out of the Akron drop yard.That is where I picked my truck up at and left it after my 7 days out.With todays communication setup ,it doesnt make any difference where you are dispatched from,or how close you are to that terminal.All of your communication is by Qual Com or telephone. And oh yeah we cant forget the paperwork which you have scanned in at truckstops directly to Roehl.It worked OK for me.

I don't understand, a driver said he's on the 7/7 but has to drop in Akron and (assumedly) 4 wheel home. I'm 14 days out from my trip to CDL with Roehl, and then possibly drive their 7/4-7/3. Anyone have a clue if this is a "home rig" or a "passaround"? Thanks for the info.

The 7/4 - 7/3 and 7/7 drivers have to park at the terminal or dropyard they are based out of. To be on one of those fleets you have to live within 150 of the yard, and those fleets aren't offered for every yard. If you are regional, national or dedicated, you take the truck home.

The hometime fleets slip-seat, so you will share you truck with 2-3 other drivers.
