Smiley 4 Bunny at Celadon!!!!

Hey there everyone!!!! I just wanted to start a new thread because I have been reading some really serious stuff about Celadon that has me puzzled.. As some of you know I was previously at Swift before I came here and had a really bad experience over there after almost 2 yrs of driving for them....But since coming here to Celadon I have not been so stress free in a long time. I think they are great..They get me home when I want to go and I am never pushed to do more then what I want. I'm going to copy some of my other previous statements from other threads about Celadon to here.. Please feel free to add anything you feel is needed to be out in the open or that is a concern for other drivers to look out for....Thanks

hi everyone...i go by Bunny on the cb radio out on the road and of course in here..LOL..i have read all 80+ msg in this thread and i must say i am very impressed...i will be flying to indianapolis on the 22nd for orientation with celedon...i have talked to several drivers from celedon and have heard nothing but good things about them.. i use to work for swift and was recently dealt a very raw hand by them..but i'm overcoming it and moving on. hopefully celedon is the right move for me. just out of curiousity, how slow do the celedon trks go?

this was one of my first posts asking about Celadon....

Well everyone I am driving for Celadon now and I have to say they are AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!...I love it here..Coming over here from Swift was like breath of fresh air..I have to say I am very impressed with everything so far..I had an accident tho my 2nd week out but it wasn't my fault..And it happened in BC CANADA and the guy that hit me immediatly took responsibility for his wrong doing. When the police showed up and called the tow truck driver to come tow my truck cause I had a flat steer tire I was only 1 1/2 blocks from my delivery and the tow truck driver took my trailer and delivered it to the customer. How cool is that??? The customer let me leave the trailer there until I got the truck drivable again..I was then towed to a dealership to get repaired..Since then I went to Indy and was only in the shop for 2 days...Mind you I had to get a new hood and bumper plus get the qualcomm fixed and I also got 9 new tires..1 tire was new from Canada..2 days and that was all..Pretty good huh..Since then I have been running my butt off with miles to spare..I love it..They don't bs me around and I have the freedom to say what I want to say when I want to say it..I asked for my first time off and they got me home a day early..I was very impressed with that..I so hope this stays this way..I will become a Celadon driver for life!!!!!!! I had an awsome time in orientation too. And they flew me from Dallas to Indy instead of making me ride a bus. That was cool of them to do....I am so happy I came here to drive for them..

This was a few weeks after I started driving for Celadon...

And just so a few of you understand where I came from prior to driving here for Celadon...This is a thread I started when I was getting blackballed by Swift..

Blackballed by SWIFT !!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My mother had a heart attack this past weekend and I had to rush home to Dallas to be with her in the hospital. On March 17th,08 I had turned in my 2 week notice which would have expired on April 3rd,08. I was planning on turning my truck in at the Lancaster Tx terminal. On monday I recieved a call from my driver manager and he told me that Swift had decided to terminate me because I called another driver ( o/o not w/ swift) a butthole (other term) on the c.b. radio. Then as I informed them of the situation that had really happened they ignored me. I was never even told that this person called in on me. I told them it was bs. I was harrassed by the fleet manager and the terminal manager all day on tuesday to return the truck to the terminal. I had agreed to have it there by 1900 hrs on tuesday night. Mind you, my mother is laying in a hospital bed hooked up to all kinds of heart monitors..On tuesday morning the doctors decided to go ahead and operate on my mothers' heart.. The terminal manager and the fleet manager basically said too bad for your mom and oh well we need our truck back. While I was assured by my driver manager that it would be noted as a voluntary termination and I would be eligible for re-hire the fleet manager jumped the gun and terminated me in the system and also put that I abandoned the truck and they had to recover it. Crazy thing is this....I turned the truck at exactly 1900 hrs on tuesday night and I also got a signed truck equipment check list from the terminal. I also just recieved 2 safety awards from swift and have never had a preventable accident..And my driver manager also sent me a letter of recommendation for the next company I decide to drive for that states how professional, ontime and safely I handle my job..I don't recommend Swift for anyone as a long term employer for the simple fact that they will get you in the end either way..

Now I just want to update you alittle more on my experiences here at Celadon so far...I have an awsome DM that works hard to keep me rolling and puts up with alot of screaming from me when I get upset..And you know he never complains, he just listens then laughs and says " r u done now? can I talk?".....I can get irate sometimes...I have been here now for almost 6 months and I still love it...The mechanics are awsome here in Indy and I never have a problem getting in and out of the shop in a timely manner when I have a problem..I just got a brand new truck and am thrilled to have gotten it...I love it..I also understand that one company may be good for one driver and not for the other...But sometimes we just have to give it time and alittle bit of effort...Not everything is bad everywhere...I will still be posting here as time goes on and I hope I read some others drivers praise about Celadon too..

Yea...I guess I am a lucky BUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!! I get along great with almost everyone in the shop...But they have also seen me get really mad when I'm disrespected in any way...I just don't allow it...I have a job to do just like they do and I try to make them understand that....Just wish I could make some of the people in the office understand that sometimes...

Congrats bunny, and hope the rest of your time with them is awesome.. I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad time with Swift.. Heck when I left, I had no issues at all. And on top of that I went back to Ma from Texas for two weeks because of a death in the family.. They let me keep my truck and trailer at home while I was gone.. They also flew me home from Cali, when the wife went into the hospital, when she was very sick and wasn't sure if she would live or die.. So again good luck and hope things will stay positive for you..
