Be your own man and make your own decision! Trucking is a very hard tough way to make a living. You have to be a man , and not back down, and do what is best for you, and your family. The job was tough when I did it twenty years ago, but having said that it is also a great profession that enables you to meet, and be associated with great honest hard working men and woman.I have always told everyone I can that if you can look past the tough hard nosed exterior of most truck drivers you will see a very honest man that will try to help you any way he can if just ask, and listen.

Buddy your not joking! The limits put on drivers today like mph restrictions, and it seems like someone is always looking over your shoulder today with that stupid qualcom in your truck. I think they even know when you p---, and s--- today don't they?

Alas this has nothing to do with wether or not your a man or not (some are female :biggrin_25515:).

As to getting paid, it isnt wether you can work for it, the whole country is out there trying to find a means to pay the bills. Going to CR they will hit you $500 just to go through their orientation. And that still doesnt mean you will get in with a trainer! I was in a class of 60 people, by the time I got on a truck there was only 8 of us left! Some were definately on drugs, one guy was caught with in 6 hours of arrival. Heck I saw husbands and wives that were doing circles around my driving, they were washed out.

You want to go to CR is up to you. You want to get your bills paid, and your green is going to outweigh the rest of the company of guys screaming for miles? Go to Ebay, and look for Freightliners, red, with 13 speeds (9 if company). There are regular listings of guys that CR has reposessed on that were ready to do the miles.

My advice? Which no one seems to listen to (ears are screaming from all of you whom dont agree). Dont do it now. Wait till summer. If the economy is still in trouble, then at least, hopefully, you are not another we will be reading about.

Anyone seen anything of Biker? He posted he was into CR, and now?

driving for cr england or any other companies are pretty much the same except for one thing nobody myself included when starting out do not sign a lease unless the person has the experence and know the buisness. I took some advice from a guy that has ben driveing for 30 years he told me that before i sign any lease get more than 5 years as a company driver. i have learned that i takes more than one person getting from point a to point b its takes team work and some trust from all ends and not f______ with the drivers

I know that there are drivers out there that are in the wrong business. However, drivers can only drive the loads they are assigned.:yes2557: Maybe a driver is sitting through no fault of his own. Case in point....I have sat for days in a truck stop. I wanted to run. But if the planners don't plan you on a load????:biggrin_2552:I in 17yrs did not turn down any loads. So they kept giving me short runs. This is my fault?:biggrin_2552: Not one service failure. No accidents. :biggrin_2552:Yet I end up with 1000 mile weeks!:biggrin_2552: Did I go home for 3 dyas every 2-3 weeks? Yes. I have other obligations, a family That needs my time.:yes2557: I drove for another company. But my point is .... Just cus life is sunshine and lollipops for you,,, don't be so quik to judge the drivers that are not so lucky.:biggrin_25510:

how do you figure hes not being far hes not being fair its true the only way to make any money is to only eat sleep and all other duties to be done inside the truck stop and fueling otherwise dont spend days on end in the truck stop doing jack
