Ive been with valley for a few weeks now. Their Volvos are not leased. Valley pays cash for their trucks.Every weekend ,when ur at home, they clean ur truck inside and out and service them. They dont cut corners on their trucks. Also they only use grade 70 chains and add more chains to the load than what the gov says.Ive seen TMC loads that were unsafe with only 2 grade 56 chains on a 46,000 suicide coil. And it was more than a few trucks. Some of Valleys loads are leased out from great american. They only hire students that are the top of their class. They really have no turn around on drivers. Drivers stay , ounce hired. Its not a starter job like werner and others. Valleys not like other companies that pay more after a year and give loads to new drivers because there cents per mile is cheaper than those with more time. The only other company that comes close to valley is Knight.

Sorry but no I don't. Valley is a company that is leased to Great American. They really aren't nothing more than a guy with a few trucks leasedonto another carrier.

The only nice thing I really have to say about them is they keep thier equipment in good shape. Other than that they are a no good cut rate carrier...:biggrin_25523:

I went there on July 6th and talked to Jim Hoover about becoming a driver but decided not to as Ashland is over 1hr and 20 mins from me.
Heres the scoop from my notes with him.
    They are home on weekends.
Training is $1500 tax deferred. and training is about 5 to 6 wks
Pay rate is 25% no pay for deadhead. they do have some deadhead.
Do not get docked for idle time.
Ezpass and cash advance for tolls.
Have medical they pay half premium.. ( family benefit $100)United Healthcare..can add on dental and vision riders at extra cost.
Paid 6 major holidays that fall on mon thru fri.. vacation 1 wk after 1 yr 2 wks after 2nd yr after3 yr 3wks
after 6 months they do have rider program age is 18 yrs and up.
cd players but no am/fm radio or cb
no 401k but a sep program says its better than 401k
    No local runs
the day I was there they were gettng ready to can a driver for speeding again.
Jim seemed like a nice guy. Says he's not looking for drivers just looking for seat time he wants employees, lol
    hope that helped
