Yea, back at my old job, thanks for asking. This will be my last posting on this forum. When I tell what has happened to me, & am ridiculed for it, it must be time to go. Kieth S is a useless excuse of a man, & should not be in a position to influence others. I am certain JCT likes him, because he pushes, or at the VERY least, enables drivers to run 12, 14, 16 hours after sitting at a shipper for hours. Ask John, in log dept, what happens when you get caught. LMB, I am sure you will stick your nose in here with a stupid comment, I used to enjoy reading your posts till you decided to throw another driver under the bus & side with the company, even when they are wrong. WalkinBoss, thank you for your posts & information, you have been very helpful. Good luck to all of you.

If you were at the shipper all day why didn't you sleep? Have you hauled refrigerated before. Its not like dry freight where y you drop and hook most the time. You gotta sleep whenever you can and drivw after your loaded. Sorry to hear that you didn't wanna so that. As far as LMB I'm sure he's tired of people that complain about logging and then later on complain about miles. I know that you preach on logging legal but I'm sure if DOT does a full audit on you I'm sure they can find something even if its just as little as 15 minutes off. People should be grateful that there is a company out there that has the loads out there to keep their drivers moving even in this bad economy. Ask any other o/o or copanies out there. They arr sitting waiting for loads. But o well uve already made up ur mind to leave. Good luck in all u do

I have to say I had a very good time with Keith and not once did he or anyone at JCT ever ask me to run illegal. I usually run 600 to 700 a day and take a 34 when needed and that seems to work, that is the truth. There has been many days I didn't need to run that many miles but I did mostly because I would rather be driving then sitting still. Again Keith was always very helpful and I got a couple laughs out of him an he made me laugh some to.

Well, here's my story, it's rather windy. I started with JCT in August 2008, like many of you I had asked several JCT drivers on the road how they felt about the company. Everyone told me the basics and I liked what I heard. The first DM I had there was really nice and kept me running constantly. She got fired in December. In January I had a new DM, miles slacked off some, but then picked up again. My truck that I was leasing was a 2007 International with a 2006 CAT engine. I started inquiring about upgrading due to the new EPA standards CA enacted. I was told to talk to them in March. I was constantly in the shop with my APU, so talking to them in March wasn't a problem. Well, in March I was told to try again later as my truck didn't have that many miles on it. By now I had spent over $4000 on the APU. They will not replace a bad APU, only fix it. In May I was down by Tucson when I started having serious issues. They sent me to Tucson, AZ International where I spent 5 days, leaving with the truck doing the same thing. They wanted me to bring a load to Sapulpa with a crippled truck. I felt sure this time I would get a new truck. I got there on Sunday night and on Monday morning was informed that all the new trucks on the lot were going to the orientation class. So I put the truck in the shop. On Wednesday morning they still didn't know what was causing my problem. I went into see Mr Christner himself. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR JOB. I know they say "Open Door", but they don't mean it. Wednesday I went to Tulsa International to find out the problem was in the computer itself. Went back to the yard late Wednesday and was fired Thursday morning for having a dirty truck. The policy book states if you truck is dirty it is a $65 clean up fee. Truck was not dirty, cluttered yes, dirty no. When they fired me they escorted me to the back of the yard by the wash bay to clean out my truck. I had no money or transportation home. (Hadn't made a paycheck while truck was broke down.) Cell phone was turned off and they let me use their phones to call a friend for help. I got voice mail, when friend tried to call me back he was told I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone and that I was a filthy person. Well, he use to be my trainer and he told them he knew I was a pack rat, but dirty no. Anyway, got a hold of daughter and she was given 4 hours to drive 230 miles to pick me up. I couldn't fit everything in her small car and had to abandon it on their property. That was over a month ago. My DAC simply saies I was terminated and not rehirable. However, every company that calls them won't talk to me again. I have a form I was given that said I had 0 Service Failures, Hard runner, etc yet fired. I also took pics with my cell phone of inside of truck immediately when I got back showing it's not dirty. Will try to post all this to my homepage here.
Oh yeah, my conversation with Mr Christner went something to the affect: I didn't think it was fair to give the new trucks to the new drivers when some of the older drivers were having major issues with their trucks. I understood he turned this over to someone else in the company and thanked him for listening to me.
One more thing. My DM was Steve Melton. Him and his wife Judy are the ones that talked me into speaking with Mr. Christner about this matter. Imagine my shock when he turned against me as well. I know, he's protecting his job.
Doesn't make my position any better. I can't find a job, no unemployment, living on food stamps and facing living on the street in a couple of weeks.

Now that sucks! And is a prime example of why not to lease. You DO NOT own the truck, and can lose your ride/job when ever the company deems nessecary.

Doesn't make any difference if you do own your truck. A company can still cancel your lease. Now if you have your own authority, and get your own loads(by your own or through a broker)you are OK. Unless you do a lousy job, the company you are hauling for does not have to hire your truck. You can be fired from any job, not just lease operators
