Well I got the bad news today that they wont take me yet. I think the past year off has taken its toll on my driving career. Had to take time off to care for my grandma who needed someone around. I am having a horrible time getting back out on the road right now. I dont know how many more apps I can put out there.

I have a couple of points to make. First of all is driver turnover. All trucking companies have an amazing turnover rate. There is a stack of reasons for this. I think the biggest one is driver fit. What works for one driver will not work for another. There are drivers at almost every company, no matter how bad the company, that are perfectly happy there. Then there are drivers that will NEVER be happy, no matter how perfect everything is. I'd love to say at this point that JCT is that perfect company and that if someone fails, it's because of their own stupidity. But that would make me out to sound like some recruiter blowing smoke up your arse. The truth is that those of us that post on here (and the vast majority of JCT drivers I meet on the road) have found something that works for us. If I told you that I could guarantee you that if you come over here, you'll make a killing, I'd be lying. And THAT also contributes to the turnover rate. Those drivers that this isn't going to work for. And I think that if you fail, that doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It just wasn't a good fit. (though some people DO fail simply because they're idiots!)As for percentage: My previous job was paid on percentage. We also got the entire fuel surcharge straight through. There were loads that paid crazy. But there were also some that SUCKED. Overall, I don't think getting paid on percentage is all that big of a benefit. If a company is doing things right with mileage pay, it should work out to be about the same.

What's up fellow JCT drivers Hey guys I just joined the forum. Didn't know we got JCT drivers on here haha. Well I know I'll be visiting more often now. N E ways I've been with John for 4 years now I'm in L1701 black T600. As for my opinion for JCT I agree its a great company. They will keep you running rather than sitting several days, unless ur on a dang tyson load. If ur lucky u wait few hours or simply drop and hook. If ur not prepare to sit at least a day. Other than that I got no complaints, I avg about $1500 take home each week. Good thing about JCTis if u got plenty of time on a load and if there is a drop yard en route most the time they let u drop it there if u arrive early. Anyways I'm glad I found this thread. Now I can communicate with my fellow drivers on here too haha.

I agree with you for the most part. My biggest drawback with it, is the extra miles you have to put on the truck. The ultimate goal for an O/O is the most money for the least miles. That you can only do with the higher paying percentage loads. It mostly all works out in the end anyway since most companies that pay percentage, don't pay deadhead and JCT does. Speaking of which, does JCT use practical or HHG miles?

LMB does ur $0.63 a mile include the cost of fuel u pay not using ur fuel card? At 5.75 mpg I don't think u are able to net at $0.63 unless u already paid off ur trk. Idk how u calculated it lol. I get 6.8 mpg and getting about $0.50 a mile take home
