I delivered our first stop at Black Mtn NC, Came home To Wilmington to pick up my wife, spent two days at the house,we then went on to finish the load in Chester NY. I then asked to have my wife get off the truck for Christmas, and have her home around the 10th of Dec. We got home the 12th. I am going to run by myself till the 24th. I will be home for Christmas. We will both return to work the 28th. Now granted we both worked Thanksgiving, but we did not mind, besides they paid everyon who worked an extra 20 cents a mile. I think that sounds like a good company to work for in my opinion. I do know for a fact that they wil get you home for an emerengcy, even if they have to fly you home.
As far as animals, I am an avid dog and cat lover,BUT, If it comes to making a living for my family and paying my bills, or taking my large dogs down the road with me, I think my obligations to my wife and children would come first

If you looked at my thread I said you can make money at jct. Just expect when you ask to be home it's generly gonna be two to three days after you want. The .20 thing alot of companies do that. Another stat would be that out of a class of 21 NO ONE is still there. I still talk to 4 of my class mates all have false reports on there dacs. Im not saying dont go there but be prepared for these things. And Lmb your still in the honeymoon stage keep coming back after your six months or so and keep us filled in, ok

What types of lanes do you normally run with JCT. Meaning east to west, north to south, or just alot of west coast or east coast. I always enjoy running I-40 especially in the summer.

I'll be checking in and reading LMB's posts with interest. I live not too far from the main terminal and had considered them at one point, but am very leery of of lease purchase programs. The walk away lease is a plus, but if the exit strategy is the best positive, I'd rather steer clear.

Thanks Olde Goat. Keep us posted if you can.

I told them I wanted to be home the 24th for Christmas. I MT'd in Arcadia FLA, on the 22nd and the only loads they had were to Cali, or I could D/H home 687 miles and get paid for half the miles. That more than pays for my fuel, so I am home for the holidays. Not too shaby

I am liking what I hear so far about JCT. I have over 23 yrs OTR exp and was cleared to start orientation with them on Jan/26th. I would like to start sooner but they said that was the soonest opening. My only issue is in 23yrs I have never driven an 18 speed tranny, that should be interesting!!! I'm also not to happy about having to go back to driving a hood either. I guess it will be funny to see a guy with so many yrs that can't find a gear to save his life on a road test... Still I do like what I hear so far. I also got cleared for US Express to start on the 19th and thats no gear shift at all. Wow from one extream to another. By the way if you guys had a choice of going to USX or JCT what will you pick and why???
