They have been 100% honest with me and me and my trainer get along very well and have alot in common. Below(in my opinion)are some of the things that have made me happy with Crete thus far...

*500.00 a week training pay(before taxes, but still more then what other companies pay starting off for student drivers)

*.34 cents a mile after training(Pretty good for someone in theyre 1st year in the industry)

*Crete has showed respect to me as an employee. I feel like I have been treated as an individual....not just another number

*Crete hasnt played games. They didnt convince me to work for them by "bonuses" and "goodies". It was what I look for in a company. They told me who they are. From there, it was in my hands.

*I feel that they want me to be sucessful as much as I do. When you are doing a good job, they let you know it!

*Seen alot of country.(Which you would with any OTR co.)Ive been in, IN,IL,MO,IA,NEB,KS,OK,WY,UT,NV,CA,AR,TX,CO,TN,KY,V A,WV,NC,SC,GA,PA,OH,MR, and Im sure more.

Look, I dont want to jump to conclusions. EVERY company has theyre own little problems. This is all in my opinion, but also, this has been my experience with Crete so far and it has been a positive one. Is trucking for everyone? No. But I would encourage anyone going into this field, to give it a chance. Its hard being away from home weeks at a time(and im no exception). Its hard being away from friend, hobbies, and family. Trucking is NOT what I thought it would be. For those thinking your just gonna get behind the wheel and drive...well you are. BUT there is alot more to it then that. Especially paperwork. Im not a know it all. In fact, Im just getting started. Im only telling you my experience so far. I guess the best thing to do is go in with a positive attitude and make the best out of it. Also, PLEASE PLEASE do research into any company before you work for them. There are good companies out there. There are also BAD ones. This job is a lifestyle, NOT just a job. At least do some research. You owe it to yourself. Well, im gonna be back on the road soon. Just enjoying some hometime. I will have more updates soon. Good luck everyone and be SAFE.
Hey, that is great. I have applied with Crete. I will have my CDL by the end of the month. I have done a lot of research, and by far, they are tops with me. Also, thanks to evertrukker, I am really impressed.
Have good trips for the rest of your training

Omg..well of course your getting the miles, there hiring students at .33/34cpm to replace drvrs like me who have been here 5 to 10 yrs at .45cpm ect. They didnt used to hire students, had to have 3yrs otr, now all ya gotta do is have a pulse thus the skyrocketing accidents and late deliveries costing them loads, crete is one of the worst companies to work for, they are only driver friendly to new hires, god forbid a family member becomes ill. They lie like no other company, they used to be a good company but now there decision ,making process is a joke, im ashamed to work here and like so many others am waiting for vacation pay and then im gone, tonn ostergaurd and kerry kerl took a great company and turned it into a joke and as we keep track of there preventable accidents and late deliveries and increased fatalities, we'll look back one day and say "i rememeber when???

I took a look at your posts.... you joined recently, and most all of your posts had something to do with slamming newcomers. Obviously you are going through a hard time. I feel for you. Really I do. But just because your employers are are giving you the shaft it doesn't excuse your attitude towards those of us coming into the industry for various reasons.

Perhaps your attitude is part of the reason you are getting shorted on miles.

I've only been with Crete for 4 months, 2 years with another company. It's slow for me too. Just unloaded a 4 day 530 mile load, with no load offers in sight. I wish they'd send me a safety meeting update, just so I could hear that beep. I can survive on low miles, and it'll get better. It's not Crete's fault. I just think of all the people who voted for bush 2 TIMES. I truly hope they all starve to death.

Freight is slow for everyone, but you can always jump the fence and slide on the other green grass, but I'm sure its gonna be the same. We all hate sitting, in fact, most of us start looking for another carrier to drive for when we get bored. DRIVE SAFE

Spoke to a recruiter today. She said they aren't hiring in my area right now, but it may change in a few months. Guess I'll just check back.

It's looking like Crete may be for me, as long as my brothers speeding ticket doesn't exclude him.

I was with Crete twice. First time was wonderful and up to that point was the best company I'd worked for in my short three year driving career.

I had eye surgery and since I was out for quite awhile, I had to basically go thru the hiring process all over again when I decided to return to work.

Sadly, I was put on different fleet manager's board when I came back and THAT made it one of the worst companies I've driven for. I left after only two months. I believe I went from one of the best FM's in the company during my first time thru, to the WORST FM, the second time thru.

I was lied to(repeatedly), ragged on(a lot), and just generally treated like $^#$ the second time. That manager was one of those "glass of water is half empty" type of people. I could do 100 things perfect and never hear one word of thanks (for a job well done) . One little "goof" though and that manager would be all over me. All in all, a real "downer" both as a person AND as a manger.

Bottom line is that Crete is probably one of the best around, but it all depends upon who you "draw" as a manager. Just my experience..... I do/did not intend to bad-mouth Crete.

Boo
