VOIP - Voice Over Internet Protocol - basically lets you talk over the internet through a headset with a microphone.

Skype is an IM, VOIP, and internet 'phone' service.

I've got teenage boys . . . that's how I know!

Some sort of internet connection, and the software is downloadable. Skype is free, and I think the VOIP programs are too. Not sure on those. They must be, because I haven't paid for any. Some are connected with some of the online games.

You can pick up a headset with a microphone at Wally world for about $15.
