I got a job offer from them today, I pretty much just passed it by without looking at it because I don't know if I want to deal with the tarping and strapping and everything that goes with flatbeds, on average, if you dont mind me asking, how much do you make a week in these slow times?

yeah, the strapping tarping chaining and all that mess sucked. I did it during the winter. They say if you can survive that you can make anything flatbedding throws at you. the tarps fold like cardboard nothing works like it is suposed to. It doesnt help that Melton tarps 90% of their loads. it was slow when I was there. my lowest check was 75 bucks. My highest was 750. and I only did that once. most of my checks were right around the 300 mark, take home.

I wont be flatbedding anytime soon. I will still overall they are a pretty good company. but, they still have their pitfalls. just like anyone else.

You moved on to another company? I will assume it was because of the $300 checks? I am going to do flatbedding with a company here in a month or so. Is it really that much of a pain all in all? It was all they had to offer.

What were the miles that you were getting a week? I know times are slow now but how did it look # Melton? Were they looking to pick up in the spring?
Sorry to hear about the $300 checks. Can't make a living on that. Did you have problems getting layover pay?
