The company that hauls the Wal-Mart trucks out of Reno is Greatwide. If you want to be a Wal-Mart driver. You need to go to one of their Regional centers, not a Grocery Center. The closes Reg. dist. to Reno is in Cal... I believe it is RED Bluff. Greatwide out of that DC only works with owner operators. Wal-Mart does have their fleet haul out of grocery DC’s. Majority of the time they have been working for Wal-Mart for some time and the Grocery DC is closer to the driver’s home.

I have been a Wally driver for 16 years, love it, but you have much better benefits plus retirement.

sure the application says 3 yrs experiance needed. But out here on the west coast at least, as an example, lets say they need 10 drivers, and if there are at least ten or more qualified drivers with more experiance than you have, you wont get that job. but just keep trying though, and with enough exp. then maybe you can get the job. but not as long as they have people applying for the same position with more experiance. my ex co-driver now works for them, and loves it. Just keep trying and with a clean record and enough exp. maybe one day you can get on with them too.

the wheels never stop at a grocery d.c. 7 days a week 365days a year.Lewiston had a freeze on hiring recently but it has been lifted and they want at least 10 more drivers in place by sept .wmt does about 1/3 of the work now and ryder does the rest with there own and outside companys.look for that to change.more work means more oportunitys . that 800 number will get you started in the right direction.they can mail apps too

    Guys
wm sounds like a great company for company drivers. god luck to you all.
as for the meat loads brokered out they are a nightmare for the o/o. they pay like a Swift driver, count on spending 6-8 hours at the dc waiting for a door and expect a LOT of attitude. oh yeah it's an average buck sixty to get unloaded. the company we pull for pays really well but has forced dispatch so we all Have to take wm loads.I am probably the only woman in america that hates walmart enough to neve shop there.I do feel better knowing at least they treat drivers well . learn something every day.

What truck do you drive as a UPS package driver? Doubles, single, also, how long have you been there? Do you start on the dock? Do you run @ night? How many miles? I live next to O'hare airport and run a linehaul for Midwest Motor Express @ night. I have 3 years experience w/ the same employer. Do you run the same route like I do everynight, or no....Any info will be appreciated. I think $74k would do the trick.

Nobody leases onto them, they hire company drivers or outsource through brokers only.
