My 1st year with Fischer Trucking

As my 1st year with Fischer Trucking comes to a close, I do have to say that there are not any complaints worth mentioning. All companies have kinks that you must work out with dispatch and etc. I got very lucky and got a excellent dispatcher. He has me home when needed. He is there when I have any personal problems. They run 48 states and my mother in Sept. fell ill and is not going to make it much longer. I called the disp. and he told me not to worry and he will keep me as close as possible to the east coast so when something does happen, i will not be far away. Well we are now at dec 28th and the furthest west I have gone was davenport iowa. I am 99.9% of the time right now east of chicago. The car I had for my wife broke down and disp. gave me 3 unscheduled days at home to get her a new car. I could have taken a few more but 3 was enough. I had my 13 yr old son in the truck with me in august and the first thing the owner asked him was if he was a big football fan and what part of the country he would like to see. My son said yes for football and our next run was to the new lucus oil staduium in indy for a drop. That made my sons year. he got to go on the field before it was even done, and took over 50 pics. Then when asked where he wanted to go he said he always wanted to see California. Our 3rd drop together was to San Fran and he got to see the bridge and alcatraz. Again, a ton of pics. These are just 3 instances of many that I have had with this company. You are not a number, you are not an employee, my personal experiences with them is I am a family member. They have never said no to anything i needed. I don't drive in bad weather when chains are needed and they are ok with how i feel about it. Its a give and take with this company and it is a great fit between driver and company. Just my 2 cents with my year review with the company.
