Hoping not to wear it out!

That is how it is supposed to work, drive for the most dollars with the least amount of miles. I have had this truck since July of 2006, and she only has 135,000 miles on her.

Mike;
Do you know if the loads run like that for the Company drivers regarding the big windows?
Just got back from Green Bay, and like yourself, I was impressed too. I'm supposed to pick up my truck next Wednesday for the first 2 weeks of my homerun program. Thanks.

That is the plan. I have had the ThermoKing APU on her from day one, so idle time is next to zero. That alone should get many more miles out of her than a truck without. And I keep the service up on her, and say allot of prayers.

Honestly, I don't know. I wish I had an answer for you, but I would imagine so. From the guys that I have talked to during orientation, bulk and intermodal were the best places to be regarding money. The Home Run program, I honestly don't know. But, from my experience so far, if they told you what to expect, I would expect it. That is in regards to miles and pay as a company driver. They have yet to tell me anything that one could construe as untrue. Like I said, I really like working for them, orange trailer and all.

But sad to say, I cannot honestly see making much more than a company driver.

Mike

Hubbys truck is in Houston he's gotta go get it. I considered owner operating but right now holding off on the whole upcoming fuel tax hike. I am actually leaning toward starting off smaller, pulling a 3 car, horse, or flatbed on a pickup moving up when I have the $ that way I limited possible losses. But still waiting back on the attorney gig.

Just a side note, I picked up a trailer the other day that still had the owners nmanual in it. They are replacing 5000 trailers this because of things like you mentioned.

It is for me right now, but it just started this week. I've been averaging around 2200 per week. Less than I want, but more than a lot of drivers. I'm on a good board. As long as I keep Mac 18 updated I usually get my next assignment before I'm finished with current load. Not this week.

Far as I am concerned any company that tells you how long your hair can be and what to wear... and pays the same as the other guys... hmm... how about no but thats his choice. Me I am looking at a cushy job as a attorney's assistant.
As far as I know the only real hair and dress policy is for the bulk drivers and that's because they deal with hazardous materials a lot. For example, they say you can only have certain types of facial hair so you can get on your gas mask if you have a spill. And you have to wear long sleeves so you don't risk getting chemicals all over you.

Otherwise the only requirement is that you wear Schneider approved footwear, which means boots that provide ankle support and have non-slip soles.
