| Covenant "allows" no higher than 1000 watts. HOWEVER, you can install your own 1500 or 1800 watts.... but don't let them know That's what I did. And if you ever have an electrical problem (which you may because the way they wire their trks) just let them fix it but DON'T LET THEM KNOW you have 1500 watts p/o OK? If necessary, remove the p/o if you take trk to shop at terminal. Trks don't have CB. You can install your own, refri, microwave, etc.... But check amps before you match power inverter with your appliances. Ah, co. charges 100 bucks to install power inverter. You can do it yourself. Pretty easy. BTW, it will not burn up the trk (because the way co. has wired the trk). All it may happen is to burn a fuse.... you can fix it yourself or let them fix it... | Don't know yet. Doing some research. Will start calling cos., and check. Also trying to get a dedicated account here at cov. before I find some partner.. don't really want to find anybody.... but will stay here until end of April. Other cos. are also cutting costs, reducing fleet, laying off personnel... not good economic times.... |

| Hey Johnnlexy, Don't want to hijack newbtrker.... just want to give you an update on my situation here at Covenant. Today I got on a Walmart dedicated account I will be pulling only Walmart trailers and running on 48 states. Will not have home anywhere, which is ok for me. | Cflteam sounds like rocks answered your questions, thanks rocks. Sorry about the delay in posts I not paying for the TA or Pilot internet, and working on saving up for a verizon card that way I have internet anywhere. So here is the latest. Been out here for about 2.5 weeks and things are going alright. Getting pretty decent loads about 1800 miles avg load. Haven't really had to sit to much except for the first weekend out, we drop out load in houston, and were told to wait at a truck stop, the trailer we had, had 2 bad tires and so we got them replaced, let our dispatcher know. while they were changing the tire we got a repower but when we got the the p/u yard it was closed. This was a thursday night and so they told us to go wait at the truck stop. Couldn't get us a load on friday, so we sat there all weekend. other then that we have only had to wait about 8 hours to get another load. The driving in coming along, still get a bit jittery at times, but hey this is all new to me. Just trying to get more comfortable driving in heavy traffic and city driving. That and my shifting still needs a little tweekin. Ok well can't really think of much else to tell ya. Will get better at updating as I learn the system better. |
