Newbtrker@Covenant

Hey all like I said after weighing my options I decided to go to covenant. I left from Jackson, MI Sat. Jan 3, # 3:30pm on a Lovely Greyhound trip! Got down here to chattanooga Tn, Sun. the 4th. # 9:20 am. 17 hours of uncomfortable anoying kid hell. Shuttle picked me up and brought me to the hotel, with it being sunday we could either stay at the hotel and get situated in our rooms or go over to do the road test. I elected to do the test and I'm glad I did as I passed the first time, and if you didn't you could retake it again. But I passed all that and that was a big relief. Just one less thing to worry about. Spent the rest of the day filling out my packet and sleeping. Got up this morning around 3:30am and my roomie and I went for around a mile walk. couldn't sleep. Ate breakfast then started orientation. Today was just doing your physical, agility test, start your personel file, and road test, but I was already done with that and so after lunch rest day sitting around. Well that about covers it for now, don't want to run on to much. Give another update, either tomorrow or wens. See ya all out there!!!

Johnnlexy good luck when ya get down here, but unless I get back from my training session I will still be on the road. It sucks that your only choice is cov. but at least ya get to start somewhere.
Ok, now for the update. Today was total classroom, went over pay, and procedures, hazmat, and security, a welcome from the VP and then an legal service pitch. nothing to exciting. And just to all that mght be coming to cov if they didn't tell you, you will be required to get hazmat within 6 months. however if you wait they will reimberst you for getting it after your here as long as you get it within 6 months.

Well it is official, I am set to go out with a trainer. Today we went over logs and got our log books. Went over insurance, got our comdata cards. Got our trainer assignments. Mine called me today he should be here around 8 am tomorrow but has to shop the truck to get an inverter installed and we should leave out on friday. All I have to do tomorrow is watch a slide presentation and go meet with the recruiting dept. I gave ya that just in case its a few days until I can post again.

You new guys going to Co., expect to team for as long as they want (forever, maybe).... They may be hiring new experienced drivers as solo through orientation or recruiting but not allowing anybody already hired as team driver to go solo. THAT P*SS ME OFF SO MUCH! And there's nothing I can do other than find another freaking partner or leave the freaking co..... I am their slave right now But not for too long. Will leave these b*stards as soon as I complete one year (3 more freaking months to go.....)
