Thank you sir .. I am just trying to state the facts about the 2 mentioned and added a third company in the mix which really is the third wheel compared to the other 2 but you know I went through some bad times and some disgruntal times (at walmart) but I understand I honestly think I have found a good new home at Superior Carriers and am very pleased at what I have saw so far. It reminds me of home (walmart) Never forget where you came from is my advise to anyone who is thinking of jumping ship admist an economic storm in which we are in right now. But I did and it all worked out ... DEDUCATION and faliure to give up is the key and never settle for less if you know you are getting the short end of the stick . (not my case at walmart pay wise or treatment) thanks for reading ky24

ENTRY 3 PAY compared entry # 3 PAY COMPARISION Both companies pay well infact when you add up both compensation packages they truly wash out if you include benefits etc. WALMART PRIVATE FLEET PAY PACKAGE MILEAGE PAY = UP TO 0.4375 (new drivers start at 0.39) (takes 3 years to top out ) paid off hub miles DROP PAY = $6.75 HOOK PAY = $8.50 BERTH PAY = $ 42.00 PER NITE (IF YOU SLEEP IN THE TRUCK) HOURLY PAY = $14.00 LOGS = COMPUTER BASED IN THE TRUCK PROFIT SHARING = CHANGES DISCOUNT 10% IN STORE ON GM MERCHANDISE AND PRODUCE ONLY BREAKDOWN PAY = HOURLY RESET PAY = HOURLY UNLOAD PAY = AFTER 45 MIN ON HOURLY PAY FUELING = IF NOT AT A D.C. AND HAVE TO FUEL AT A TRUCK STOP 15 MIN PAID BY HOURLY PAY. SCELD TIME = MEETINGS ETC SHELD COMPANY MANATORY STUFF PAID AT 1/10 AVERAGE DAY PER HOUR WAIT TIME / DISPATCH DELAY = IF NOT AT YOUR HOME D.C. ONLY PAID BY HOUR ON HOURLY PAY 45 MINS AFTER YOUR GO TIME WAS SET INTO DISPATCH TRUCKS = 65 MPH UNIFORMS = YES SUPERIOR CARRIERS PAY PLAN MILEAGE 41.5 loaded 34 .0 mt DROP $10.00 HOOK $10.00 LOAD $20.00 UNLOAD $20.00 WAIT TIME $13.30 AFTER 2 HOURS NO CAP BERTH PAY = $10.00 PER NIGHT PROFIT SHARING = CHANGES UNIFORMS = YES HOURLY PAY = 13.30 RESET PAY = YES BY HOUR NO CAP for 34 hr reset LAYOVER = YES AFTER 15 HRS BY HR NO CAP CANADA BORDER PAY = $15.00 IN $15.00 OUT anything over 1 hr paid hourly from time truck stops in line early appointment pay = yes hourly dispatch delay = hourly uniforms = yes breakdown pay = hourly COMPANY PAID BENEFITS ..... WALMART PRIVATE FLEET PAID SHORT TERM 90 DAYS (ONE TIME USE DURING EMPLOYMENT NEW RULE BY CORPORATE THIS SHORT TERM IS CALLED SALARY CONTINUATION. Vacation = 1 AFTER 1 YR 2 AFTER 2 3 AFTER 5 paid 1/52 persnal days = 2 can be banked up to 10 benefits cost family plan = roughly 215.00 every 2 weeks stock purchase plan optional life insurance at low rates SUPERIOR CARRIERS paid short term paid long term paid 50k life insurance 2 weeks vacation after 1 year personal days = 2 benefits for family = roughly 37.00 per week or 74.00 every 2 wks 401 k with match I know this is a sloppy comparison but by doing the numbers and factoring in benefits costs and coverage for apples to apples comparison it is virtually a wash . Make more at WALMART but.. if you have to use the insurance you spend more at the doctor etc .. and premiums are almost tripple because Superior picks up more of the tab and leaves less for the employee to pay. So with the factor of all this I call it a tie pay wise etc .. all considered.. Not to mention if you take long term out with walmart there is a cost of an additional 7% of your gross dollars bi weekly taken out if you elect this coverage. so basically bank on an additional 150-200 depending on gross wage coming out so if you take their insurance family plan and elect long term it will cost you right at $400 bi weekly or more (slightly give or take $50.00) when the average Superior driver will only pay $74.00 bi weekly for better coverage. In my opinion benefits are worth just as much if not more in some cases as wage. The average superior driver will pay on average about 150.00 less per week in benefits with the example shown and a driver should take the long term out for you never know I have seen folks stuck because they did not elect coverage.. Hope this helps ky 24

Kentucky, I would say you are like a "cat" as you fell out of the tree and landed on your "paws" or feet hehehe. Really glad for you my man! Curious, how is your milage working out so far? I am sure you have already read wsyrob's post on here as he is also with Superior and seems to be really enjoying he time with them. They actually trained him right out of school. Do you know if they are still offering this? Keep up the post and let us know how it is going. Much appreciated and good to see such good things happening.

Entry 4 Q/A from ( SIMPLE INTREST) Q1 Do they still have the training program? at Superior Carriers..? Wysrob likes it and was a student there ... A1 =Yes the do still have the training program meaning they will train you on TANKS and TANK PROCEDURES this is done in 2 ways 1. You go to Kingsport TN and attend a week long inclass session to learn the basics and some limited hands on . 2. Then you return to your home terminal (MY CASE MEMPHIS) and ride with a driver trainer to learn the real world of tanks loaded and mt. and you get to meet MR SURGEIO (the tank surge) this is usually 1 to 2 weeks but if you need more you can get it. (Train on TANK till you feel comfortable) during training you stay in a HOTEL each night and are paid by the hourly wage for this training period. so 10hr day = roughly 130.00 for your time and a FREE HOTEL. So not gonna get rich while training. Also when you go to KINGSPORT you can get a company paid rental car or they will pay you 41.5 cpm to drive your POV each way. For the STUDENT QUESTION ... Superior Carriers has done away with taking STUDENTS out of school. (nothing against them) just that the thought behind it was to take students and train TANK so they could not let BAD DRIVING HABITS develop . They found out that this did not work in there system well and discontinued this program. (being fased out terminal by terminal) should be complete now... Again nothing against STUDENT DRIVERS just stating what I was told by the Superior Driver Trainer when I took my ROAD TEST ... I have chatted with WYSROB and he seems like a REALLY COOL dude I have followed him in the CYBER WORLD and on some other foreums he is VERY positive about SUPERIOR ... The SYSTEM FREIGHT is a little down but if they aint got nothing they will pay you to sit.. My terminal MEMPHIS is UNIQUE 1 We do regular chemical tanks (local, regional, system) 2 We do chemical containers ( on chasis'es ) local, regional, 3 Tank and Container SANI WASH 4 Rail tanks (limited) 5 Port/ barge freight (tank) port of MEMPHIS So in Memphis if I want to work it is there ... may be some local from time to time but the work is there. I have never seen over 3 drivers at one time sitting at Memphis and they arent there long a few hours and sometimes it is by choice to take a break.. I am like a CAT a KENTUCKY WILDCAT the biggest UK fan you will ever meet my sign name KENTUCKY24 stands for 1. Kentucky = UK 2. Jamal Mashburn =#24 My favortie player in my ERA to wear the UK jersey Hence KENTUCKY24 BE SAFE ky24

Form reading this and comparing pay, miles, trucks, and benefits, I can see why my company has a very low turn over rate in this industry.
