| Would your carrier do this ? A week ago Thursday I deadheaded 150 miles and loaded a load to be delivered to Canada another 550 miles the following day , Friday . I drove about 200 miles after loading and the turbo went out around noon . Around 2:30 p.m. I was towed into a shop that closed at 5 p.m. . Dispatch reserved and paid for a motel room for me . I got the truck back 2:00 p.m. Friday . I called dispatch . I couldn't deliver until Monday so they told me to bring it home and head out Sunday . Bring it home ? 350 miles then just backtrack Sunday ? Yup , and I'm paid for every mile I drive . I was paid $390 for the layover and extra miles to bring the truck home for the weekend . |

| I used to work for a company that would do it. I could go to work for them tomorrow. But at .27 a mile...forget it LOL

| I work for an affiliate of Quality Carriers , NOT QC . My boss has about 30 trucks . QC no longer allows applications to be taken at terminals . Applications must be filed online at the QC website , even for affiliates . |

| I'm a company driver but we have some O/O's working for us . I don't know what their pay agreements are . We have one O/O that was working for my boss for Montgomery Tank Lines before QC was started . This O/O had over a million miles on his tractor and because of age and medical conditions didn't want to invest in another tractor . He sold his tractor and is working as a company driver . |
