SmokeMac, you say you work 5 days a week and are guaranteed $500. In your initial post you indicated you made over $1000 a week. Am I to assume that the guarantee is only in place if you are not busy, but you almost always make more? Just trying to understand and I appreciate your time.

The gaurantee is only in place in place in case we are not busy. I only worked 5 days last week and only made a little over $800. Let me further explain I make the money I make because I run at night and work both weekend nights. I get $25 for working nights and $35 for working for working weekends. So on a Sunday night I get $25 night pay + $35 week end pay = $ 60 premium pay for the night.
Let me further explain to make money in this buisness you need to do it at night. It is easier to get in and out of the rack. Day drivers probaly spend about 45 minutes getting loaded I am in and out in 20 minutes.

Well the first thing you need to do is is get finger printed for the endorsement, then they send you a letter stating, your character is good enough to hold the endorsement. Then you are elligable to take the test. I am rounding up the cost of getting finger printed, I want to say it is $150 not sure. I don't do well reading out of the manuals, so what I did was go to crist cdl, they have free pratice test. I kept on taking the practice test until I was able to get 100% on all 7 of there test. They have 7 different pratice test. Then I went and took the test.
Gas Hauling is not for all drivers, just like OTR is not for all Gas Haulers. If you have an apptitude for it you can do real well and still have a life outside the truck. Best wishes to you no mattaer what you decide

BLKSOLDIER77 I don't know of any Web sites that list Gas Hauling Companies, but I know that Florida Rock and Tank lines, Keenan Advantage Group, and Georgia Tank Lines have terminals up there. I know you can google Florida Rock and Tank Lines and the Keenan Advantage group have Websites, hope this helps

Phantom 69, I mainly run in THE GA Coastal Empire and the SC low country. About once a week I will go up to N. Augusta SC. Can not say enough good things about gas hauling. Really don't know much about the Spartinburg Terminal, but in Savannah there are 8 drivers with me being the junior of the 8 and I have been there almost 9 months
