Eagle Transport (Gas Haulers) Hey every one I have been lurking on this website for about a year now. I was working for a Company that ran under the Associated Petroleum Carriers, (APC) Flag, hauling gas. I didn't post because I just didn't have anything good or bad to say about the Company. I worked real lomg hours but maid enough to make a living. I now work for Eagle Tranport Corp, I work on Average 10.5 hours a night 6 nights a week,, I choose to run nights because it is easier to get in and out of the loading rack. It also helps that Eagle pays me extra to run nights. I don't kill myself and still make over a thousand a week. I am retired military so I am tickeled pink with that kind of money.

Hey SmokeMac, can you help me understand the pay scale with Eagle? I just applied and they have called me and advised they liked the resume/application. I expect to hear from then again next week. On the initial call they indicated that they paid by percentage. I have never been paid this way. Can you explain it and tell me your thoughts?

I am a gas hauler, I have worked for eagle. They pay percentage. It's like this.... they get $450.00 to go from tampa to ft myers...they will pay you 26-28 percent of the load....or about $95-$100+ for that trip, they have set tables for each trip, long, medium and local in town deliveries....local in town can pay you from $25-40+ dollars. Also the table is set by the customer type also, there are some cheapo stations they serve for the work, that pay a little less. You also have to factor in the waiting time at the "rack".....on a good day in and out in about a half hour....on a bad day....it can take hours to load, like when the rack crashes...or heavy traffic loading...night time is the best time to work....less traffic at the racks and on the highways and streets..... I hope this helped out..I am about to go back to hauling gas,it's a pain in the butt sometimes, but you are home every night, and sleep in your bed. Can't beat that! best wishes....mcr.

Thank you for the information. I am expecting a call from them this week. I am not sure I am up to working 6 days a week. Are they at all flexible with days off? I need to have 2 days off in a row at least once a month to visit my elderly father who lives about 300 miles away. Not sure if that will be an issue. But, the reality is, the job market is not at its best right now. And being in my own bed will make a difference. Thanks again for the info! BS53

6 days a week? when i was there we worked only 5 days with 2 consecutive off....I didn't know they changed that. You get your days off I don't know how they do it now.... ![]() I need 2 days off for my pool/beach days..why else live in FLA if your not going to take advantage of the summer, I am glad I am not OTR right now. The summer goes by and you enjoy so little of it.... Good luck at eagle, keep posting to see how it goes.... Best wishes MCR.

You donot have to work 6 days a week if you don't want to. I choose to work 5 nights a week because on a 6 night work week I am gauranteed $600 a week, on a 5 day work week you are only garunteed $500 a week. Plus it allows me to have a few bad nights The only real bad thing I have to say is there insurance is sort of High. I think the guys I work with pay &109 aweek. I am retired military so I have my insurance with TRICARE.
