Does anyone know of a company that will hire someone with 4 accidents all over 3 years old? I want to get my trucker license but am afraid to spend the money only to find out nobody will hire me. Thank you, any help or advise would be a huuuuge help to me right now.

You've got enough threads on this. Your accidents won't be 3 years old until november. We're listening but the outlook isn't all that great for you. THe companies are being very choosy right now and a single speeding ticket has some people here looking for work outside of trucking right now.

I wonder why you are set on professional driving though? 4 accidents averaging an hour a day in your own small car getting to and from work? Is this really what you feel you are suited for?

I've always wanted to be a trucker but always seemed to land jobs I hated and than stayed at them for long times to pay the bills, I'm tired of working jobs I hate in little cubicles just to eat and I want to accomplish this now. And I really am a good driver, I had a bad patch in my life for about 1 year (If you catch my drift) and all my accidents happened in this time, before that I never even had a speeding ticket for 7 years and haven't had anything since.

I sincerely know all about bad patches. Did any of those accidents result in any kind of more in depth record than you're stating here? DUI/DWI? Because if so, and believe me I'm not judging, but it really does simplify your answer.

Nope, none ended in DUI or DWI, just minor accidents all at really low speeds like under 10 mph and all with very, very little dmg to either car.

Ok, here's your situation. If you poke around you'll see lots of threads for people looking for trucking jobs that are untouchable for one reason or another. They're usually either felons or have dinged up MVR's, or both. Either one will keep you out of the big companies right now. The advice given to the felons is to find a local small fleet or owner operator that can give them a chance.

I know this sounds wrong, but your situation is actually a bit worse. See the insurance companies could care less about criminal records, it is the employers choice to hire them or not, and mostly not. You though are a new CDL holder with no experience, which automatically puts you in the highest insurance bracket. But with accidents, they may not even extend a policy to you at all, and if so, at a tremendous cost burden to the O/O.

Many of the larger training companies self-insure, so they wouldn't feel the impact of higher premiums, but they weigh the risk themselves. They are the ones that really are being picky. I could come up with a ridiculous exaggerated number for how many apps daily they are getting and I probably still wouldn't be in the ballpark. Thousands of apps daily for sure.

Nonetheless, the only advice that is sensible to give, in trucking, is that you're going to have to know someone, or GET to know someone!

Everyone's applying to the same 30 companies nationwide. There are 1000's of very small, maybe only 1 truck companies within probably 100 miles of you. Most never advertise, they get their leads from truck dealers, others in the business, the same drivers in the network bouncing back and forth.

Go to a truck stop. Go to some used truck dealers. They always know who is looking to add a truck or looking for drivers. Try to meet them before your info gets looked up and be honest face to face. It's really your only shot. Downside is they might not even be able to get you on their policy if they try. Many insurance companies are the ones that set the rules you see on the trucking sites, no more than so many in 3 years, so many in 5, so many ever etc.

Last, if you could somehow miraculously find enough money down for a truck and the insurance and paperwork, you could do your own thing. Hire yourself.

you might try your local beverage distributors to get your foot in the door some will even give you a cdl no special school just a little on the lot practice and a ride down to the dmv to get your dl it could get you your cdl without costing you anything and it will give you a taste of what its like

well I was in the army for 3 years and than I worked in title insurance for 6 years, either way I hated the insurance job but the money is really good so I kinda just hung around to pay bills.
