Re: UPS FREIGHT(FORMALLY OVERNITE)

Do you know what starting pay is for dedicated drivers in the western states? I presently make good money as an electrician but tired of the job. I am seeking a good paying trucking job and have experience. I just don't know if UPS is the one I should sign up for at this time. Any encouraging words?

Re: UPS FREIGHT(FORMALLY OVERNITE)

Hi

I am going for a Road test and Pee test tomorrow with UPS FREIGHT located in North Las Vegas.

Subject to good refs and passing the above, I have been given the choice of a city driver job or a Line driver job the city pays 17.57 to start with a pay raise every 6 months. The line driver pays .45cpm to start going to .50 after 6 months.

Do you know how many miles a new line driver can expect to get a week.?

Unions are like fans. Stand in front of them, they blow: stand behind them, they suck; stand beside them, they do nothing for you.
UPS is dead against the big fan called Union. Has anyone heard of a little trick called "Union Busting". There are guys who specialize in this anti American action and have pulled it off with many large industries.
The concept is of Union is great don't get me wrong. But the Union has staff and staff ( business agents) are people. Some people are crooks.
I would bet Overnight does NOT go Union, and the ones that are get busted up.

Re: UPS Freight/Overnite

Unions still have a place. The problem is they involve themselves in benefit and compensation issues, while they need to just keep it to unfair discipline and unjust firings. That's where the unions are most appreciated.

Did you apply to the Motor Cargo terminal or the Overnite terminal?

Start cpm should be .46 cpm.

You sound like management.

You say at the end of your opinion that your a non-driver, what exactly are you?

Do you work for UPS, or any of it's subsidiaries?

Are you in the labor force?

The Unions do nothing for you? What's your experience with this statement?

UPS signed a card check agreement along with early negotiations with parcel so this bumps your statement of " Dead against ".

With all that was said by you this statement- "The concept is of Union is great don't get me wrong." confuses me. Are you against the Union or not? But I might not be getting it right, the sentance is not put together well.

Overnite will not go Union? What do you know that the rest of us "uninformed" employees don't?

The rest will be busted up? Are you one of the volunteer busters? Again, what do you know about what is going to happen?
