Transport America

When I signed on with Transport America I had no idea how much they cared about the drivers. I came on as a student last year and they made sure that I had everything I needed to be succesful.

I was especially impressed with the recruiter I had, Mark Mac (1/866-804-2058). If you live East of the Mississippi then give him a call, it is worth it!

I credit Transport America with their dedication to their drivers, aggressive pay schedule and home time. Their fleet managers do everything they can to get me home a lot.

Transport America

I am very happy with my miles. With the Holidays over it slowed down a bit but overall I am getting over 2500/week. No complaints at all.

I had heard that recruiters lie just to get people in the door. I heard that 10 times in the last year. I must say that I am very happy with how I have been treated since I picked up the phone a year ago.

It seems that with the entire industry trying to get drivers that Transport America has decided to put the drivers 1st and just do whatever it takes to keep the good drivers. I must say that I agree with this philosophy!

Re: Transport America, any good?

Be VERY careful about going to Transport America!! You can not take your truck home if you life 75 from a termanel, you may not unhook from your trailer for at all. Inorder to take your truck home, if longer than 75 miles, you must have a secured place and have it in writting. DO not trust anything the recruters tell you they will string you along. You will need to take anywhere from 1-3 driving exams, one at training to test out, if you get a new trainer one half way through, and a finel test out with the safety director. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

a company i was "going" to work for required a secured parking place as well. they too required some "proof" of a safe/secure place. there is a towing company that was willing to "lease/rent" me some space, but i wasn't going to pay for "their" truck and they wouldn't reimburse me either. i told them to "go fly a kite"...........
