You will go broke on either. Trans-Am may allow you to eat for a few weeks extra.

Jeepskate99 is correct. a lease for a new guy, in this economic dead zone will be a disaster. even if you were a veteran of the road those leases are'nt for you to make $. its to pay for those trucks you see in the yard. sure you are gonna get a 'job' but at what cost to you. never EVER lease from a company you are gonna work for. ask them if they will hire you without the lease. try that and see what they say. im just sayin be real careful.

Trans-Am will fire you for that muzzleloader. How can they starve you if you have guns to hunt with?

Concerning TA's lease and making money. Just talked to an L/O with 14 yrs experience at the Rockwall terminal. We were swapping loads there. That load was taking him home so that he could unload his truck and turn it in. He was behind on all his bills and going hungry. My trainer is an L/O and he is making less than a company driver!!!! He is quitting in June. Sure they'll take you as an L/O. Need somebody to pay the bills on their trucks.

If you feel you have to get into this business at this time, find somebody that will let you go company. After the economy picks up, then you can rethink going lease if you want.

BTW- I currently work for TA. Hope that helps.

There is a very informative thread in the Bad Trucking Co section called "My 16 week experience with TransAm" by a gentleman who tried their lease program. If you haven't already read it, it might be worth your time. Good luck with your decision.
