Drop n hook,

Very good response. Is your dad slipseated or does he have his own truck? Also, could the rider walk through dispatch or he/she limited to the truck when at a walmart DC?

My father is on the program 6 and 3. 6 and 3 i where you have 3 guys that share 2 trucks. Your days rotate while with 6 and 3. Say i leave out Tuesday then i come home Sunday. While your out the other guy is out to but at a different day, and the third guy is at home for 3 days. If you get enough seniority you can get your own truck. If youve been there for 3 and up years and work your but off then you have a possibility of gettin your own truck. You can put your name on the truck, your handle, chrome, tint, just about anything when you get your own truck..
And one more thing about 6 and 3. You can like pick the people you want to run 6 and 3. My dad has two of the best drivers that leave the truck clean. You can pick smokers, non smokers, ones that dont give a care about the truck, and the ones who are in love with the truck.

Can the rider walk through the dispath office. He/She can do just about anything. Walmart likes to see stuff like that. Ive rode with him a many of times and the love it when i come. They make you smile and laugh and compliment you. Ever since he started six years ago it has been fun. I could get out the truck, roll the landing gear up, attach the lines. Heck i pretripped the whole truck everytime. And the safety manager would stand there and smile and say " if im still here when you start driving come talk to me".

And walmarts the only company that i knw that if you stay out 6 days you will get most of the time you will get 3000-3300 miles, even when the economy is slow, or backhauls arent kickin. Even when the economy was slow in the first of the year. They sent me and pops 20 miles down the road to McComb to pick up five pallets and take them to St.James, Mo then to St. James to Hopskinsville, Ky...

Anymore questions.. Please ask. I could go all day about this company. And ill be happy to answer. Thanks and be safe.

tater. it really is people like you that make this forum a negative place .instead of berating new cdl drivers why dont you try to help them or show them the proper way or your way in this case to do there job better...i would also go as far as saying that im sure someone took the time 28yrs ago to do the same for you . that you have forgotten about by now...or did you start out as the only safe/ great trucker that you r today without ANY assistance.. i dont mean to sound rude and i sure dont know much but i do know we all need guidance at some point in our lives and or carreers . so please try to remember the early days and be kind . and dont come back with sarcasm there is way too much of that on her . maybe you can turn this negativity around and make some new driver feel welcome have a great day. and lord knows if you r ever in a jam or crisis and i am near you i will certainly reach out a hand to help...god bless you

I agree with ya. Lots of stuff that he writes that makes me laugh. But on the bright side, look at it this way...over 400 posts in the last two months. Going to burn out I think pretty soon.

No you won't. You'll buzz on by thinking, one of these days - if I have the time - I will stop and see if I can help.
