Glad hes doing ok. I didnt make it back on Sunday, my wife re-injured herself so I couldnt make the bus time because of being at the hospital with her. So they deactivated me today saying when I return I would have to pay for the bus ride and hotel myself till Im reactivated. I called my recruiter today and asked if I need to go work somewhere else, she wasnt happy they told me that after I said I can still get there anytime this week, just couldnt on Sunday. Sooooooo, she is supposed to call me in AM, so we will see. Hey sixpac did you ever get my message???

If I find out that they are giving any of the new trucks to new hires I will be on a bus from Conley, after turning this truck in. Everyone should have to do at least 6 months in one of the older ones. It is part of paying dues LOL.

I had an 05, loved that truck, they made me trade it for this 06.
This one is going to hit 400k in the next 2 weeks, and I am ready for a new one 08 or newer. I think I have earned it. There are a number of us that have been here for a year or more in nasty older trucks. We should get the pretty shiny ones. I know you are not a new driver, but I am sure you understand. I have seen too many upgrade into 08's as it is. Into 09's is not acceptable.

They are getting red 670's? The only red Volvo's I have seen are the 780s for lease ops. Did not know they were getting 09s in red otherwise.
This will be our last batch of Volvo's anyway. Last 300 to end contract. They still had not decided what will be next, the last I heard.

He lastkid how are things in CO. I've been tru there so much these past weeks it's like being home again hehehe. I want to post my 4 weeks of experiance but don't have time now but will do before the night is over.
Hey, Sixpack, I'm glad to see you back on here again. Things are going well out here in Colorado.
The A/C in my truck quit blowing any air, hot or cold. I called OTRM and said that I have an old Central truck, and they actually walked me through a repair. Pretty nice of them considering that the truck and me have been gone for a few years now. I was going to say something about how I wish they were that helpful when I was actually a Central Employee, but I thought I should just say thank you for the help and leave it at that.

Maybe they thought you were one of the owner ops with the Freightliners that are still with the company. I know there are at least a dozen or more that bought there trucks from Central when they did the sell off, and leased on with them, and are still with them.

So did you get a burrito 6Pac?

Hopfully you get lucky and don't get an 06.
The jake brake on the 2006 with the Volvo engine is terrable. Hardly slows the truck at all on hills. Makes me glad I am on the East Coast. Granted I drive 24 some, and Eagle is as steep and curvy as most in the west, just not as long, and not as much snow.
In my old truck I could go down it at 45 and never touch the brakes. In the 2006 I am in, I have to do a quick spike every 45 sec, just to keep the speed under 55 and redline.
I hear many of the early 6's are starting to be traded when the miles get up though. I have 50k to go before mandatory trade. It is a 62 series, the first they got with the bunk heaters.

I told you he would not get there till 2130.

Just to let people know that are looking at Central.
I am a company driver, I do not run hard. I am usually thru home every couple of weeks, with a few days off a month.
So far, as of my last check, My net. income, after taxes ect. it just over 24k so far this year.
Not too bad. I could have made allot more if I was willing to run hard all the time. I just rather not have the stress, and be home more.
