The jake brake on the 2006 with the Volvo engine is terrable. Hardly slows the truck at all on hills. Makes me glad I am on the East Coast. Granted I drive 24 some, and Eagle is as steep and curvy as most in the west, just not as long, and not as much snow.
In my old truck I could go down it at 45 and never touch the brakes. In the 2006 I am in, I have to do a quick spike every 45 sec, just to keep the speed under 55 and redline.
I hear many of the early 6's are starting to be traded when the miles get up though. I have 50k to go before mandatory trade. It is a 62 series, the first they got with the bunk heaters.

I told you he would not get there till 2130.
They have a couple of 02 out there they went tru but I'm say'n no to them they may need to look harder atleast an 07 and white not black. As for the time my laptop is an hour fast thats why i missed him.

Well that's not too bad ChromeDome. Hubby is doing ok so far. He calls every night and almost out of minutes....lol.....Tomorrow is the written and he has been studying every night so he should be good.
Sorry to hear about that Dragon. Hopefully something comes up. I know it is hard getting on with a company with no OTR experience. Most places say 6months-2years experience. Hopefully it works out for you. Let me know how it goes.

A couple of weeks ago we seen a Central Cab over, thought about you as soon as we seen it.
We have been running around Washington, Oregon and SLC the last few days so haven't had to Idle of a night which has been good, our QC took a dump Yesterday morning, that was a huge pain in the butt as we couldn't get directions, lucky we have a Garmin lol.

Dragonmatrix I'm sorry to hear that there being Wads at SLC, We had to call in there on Saturday to pick up a load and that another driver was bringing there and take it to Washington, We went to Ihop and had Breakfast and waited in the Wal-mart car park until they let us know our load was there.
We are now home for a few days. JJ will be going back out by himself for a while.....I'm staying home to get a few things done around the house, it will be good to have to not walk 1/2 a mile to the bathroom in the morning.

Hey Dragon,
check out FFE, Prime, Priorty, CR England. The last 1 I recommend with some reservation. Also u can look at the website "CAD Trucking". I forget if it's FFE or Priorty that wants experience. Anyway, doesn't hurt ta look.

Hey, Dragon, I know you are frustrated, my friend, but please try to hang in there. I would hate for the time you have already spent to go to waste.

And now, for the first time ever, I am going to TOTALLY DISAGREE with Chromedome.

If I find out that they are giving any of the new trucks to new hires I will be on a bus from Conley, after turning this truck in. Everyone should have to do at least 6 months in one of the older ones. It is part of paying dues LOL.
Chrome, the first truck assigned to me had 660,000 miles on it and it was the best truck I ever drove. I only had it a few months and they upgraded me to a brand new one. The new one was a piece of junk and they upgraded me to another brand new one. Those new trucks couldn't even DREAM of being the great truck that the older one was. I wished for it back almost every day I drove for Central.

Now, since this is the first time that Chrome and I have disagreed on something, I have to add a little detail: I actually met the driver who had my older truck before me. He saw it and literally RAN across the parking lot to see it. He took very good care of the truck and he had a lot of pride in keeping the interior very nice. That is probably the difference.

I called my recruiter today and asked if I need to go work somewhere else, she wasnt happy they told me that after I said I can still get there anytime this week, just couldnt on Sunday. Sooooooo, she is supposed to call me in AM, so we will see. Hey sixpac did you ever get my message???
Won't you still owe them for school if you do that? I hope your wife is doing better now. Keep ya chin up, things have to get better.

Not sure how that would work. I needed to get home for my wife and they ok'd it and told me to come back when I'm ready. So I called and set it up. Was supposed to leave last Sunday and couldnt make the bus (Las Vegas is 97 miles from where Im at) so I called and sent emails to let them know and I would be there by Thursday at the latest. Matt Jensen in driver services canceled my bus ticket and said I would have to pay own way back, plus pay for a hotel till I was reactivated. Now mind you I still had no trainer, so even if I had made the bus, I would be sitting in SLC till I had a trainer, which I had lined up on Monday (6pac's trainer). My recruiter was going to talk to her boss this morning, but have not heard anything as of yet. Sorry for the long post....My wife is doing much better now..Thanks jess-juju....
