I had finally gotten my FM to talk more about when my last day would be. He was going to let me know for sure tomorrow. Then I got a call from the new company. I do not know all the details, will not till tomorrow, but the truck will not be ready till after the first. Actually they said 3 weeks. But I told my FM I was his till the first, so he said I will be in Conley the 31st. This way I am working, I will have some time off before i start the new one, and my FM is happy because he has more time to replace me. Well, another old trailer will be gone. I am too drop the 54 series trailer I have now when I get to Kansas City. Once empty of course. Put a red tag on it and write "trailer sold, SLC only". Not that bad a trailer, beat all to heck. But good lights, tires, brakes, and the reefer is ok for refrigerated, though it is straining to maintain temp on a -10 load. Oh well. At least I have a set date now. Not having one was driving me nuts. Hope everyone is ok. Where in PA are you going Jess? Call the receiver yourself and see if you can deliver early. I have done that in the past and had good luck with it.

I hope you got it off early. Many will let you if you ask. Our customer service dept. says they ask allot, but I am not sure they really do. Some places I have tried to be helpful with too. I hope they will act on some of them. Like the weekly Kraft load to Woodland PA, Walmart DC. The load always has way too much time on it. I talked to the receiving dept there, and they said they would like it if we had 1 trailer there, so we could drop there. I sent the word up, but have no idea if it ever happened. There are a few places now that have drops, where we had just a few loads a week, that I talked to people and got it started. I am in Kirksville MO at the moment. Have to go to Chicago yard, drop this and hook one for McLane in Baldwinsville NY, not making it home this weekend. At least it unloads Sunday night, so it is a good 1000 miles for the weekend. So where is 6Pac? still running his long load West?

Well, Wayne passed all his driving tests today. Monday he goes to the DMV to get everything taken care of. He wa sreally happy on the phone. Only 2 people did not pass. He can't wait to get on the road and get started. When do you actually start out with your trainer after passing? I know you do 2 days orientation. He said he didn't know yet so i was just wondering.

| Tell him Congratulations from JJ and I I am guessing he will get out with a trainer late next week.....I hope he gets a good trainer and if he doesn't tell him to ask for a new one.

I just got thru with a showdown with OTRM. I had a trailer tire blow out on the Indiana toll road. I pulled into a truck only parking area to check it out. Hole in the sidewall, inner tire. I let OTRM know, and they wanted me to drive 30+ miles (in the other direction) to a TA to get it fixed. I wrote him back that I would, but it will be closer to 50 miles with turning around, and that the tire would not hold together that long with a hole in the side wall. I told him I want confirmation that he would pay my tickets, if I get them. He answered, 30 min later, that he would call on road crew, and that he would not pay my tickets LOL. I guess it helps to bring up that it is a safety issue, and that company policy says to never pull a trailer with a flat tire. Especially a loaded one. I think these guys think we are idiots. If I had followed what he said, and the tire came apart and hurt anyone, or cought fire, and destroyed the load, he would have said it was all my fault. Which it would have been, had I done it.

. Makes ya wonder if the load planners have ever driven on a road trip doesn't it.
