I just got thru with a showdown with OTRM.
I had a trailer tire blow out on the Indiana toll road. I pulled into a truck only parking area to check it out. Hole in the sidewall, inner tire.
I let OTRM know, and they wanted me to drive 30+ miles (in the other direction) to a TA to get it fixed. I wrote him back that I would, but it will be closer to 50 miles with turning around, and that the tire would not hold together that long with a hole in the side wall. I told him I want confirmation that he would pay my tickets, if I get them.
He answered, 30 min later, that he would call on road crew, and that he would not pay my tickets LOL.

I guess it helps to bring up that it is a safety issue, and that company policy says to never pull a trailer with a flat tire. Especially a loaded one.

I think these guys think we are idiots. If I had followed what he said, and the tire came apart and hurt anyone, or cought fire, and destroyed the load, he would have said it was all my fault. Which it would have been, had I done it.
Would a new Solo driver have stood up to OTRM though????????? and said no sorry that would be dangerous and be a big safety issue.

I know I posted about there before.
National Beef. You get there at your load time, usually early. You drop the trailer in there yard and bobtail out. Now you have to wait till 10-14 yours later, the minimum is 10, since they force a break. Then after the 10, you bobtail to there bobtail lot (since I refuse to stay there all day). Then you wait for them to come and get you.
I HATE NATIONAL BEEF

Anyway, I feel your pain 6Pac, been there, done that.
I cussed the gate guy out bad one night, at hour 16.
Oh, and if you read your directions, we do not get detention pay for the 10 hour break, so it is 12 hours before it starts.

JJ is Stuck in some Podunk town in PA with a trailer he got from his drop that is minus two tail lights he sent a message to OTRM but they couldn't seem to grasp that the lights are gone....obviously someone thought they needed two new Led lights, the trailer is one of the newer trailers that was sitting at Nestle.

I agree, only been at it a few month's but i find that my DM at least seems to be concerned. Where as the "weekend guy" has to be told repeatedly EVERY detail as to why something cannot be done, Then he cops an attitude.

I have 47 day's left on their 6 month lease,(thank god), but at least I can start looking for a good job now!!!!

I think OTRM couldn't quiet grasp that the two lights on the right hand side were GONE, simply not there.

Anyway the problem is almost solved now, JJ took one of the lights of the left side so he now has a set of 4ways to get him to the TA and have the tail lights fixed.

I know these guys think we're idiots. I have to have a showdown about ever other month with them, or the weekend warriors.

I've learned a trick with OTRM. If something is wrong on truck or trailer, and you have a camera phone, take a photo and send it to them. that's one of the only ways to get them to realize exactly what's wrong. They hate it too.
