Nope the Lease Trucks don't come with an APU!! Central will put a second hand one on your truck and you will end up paying $4000-6000 for it and at the end of the lease you end up paying for it again.

We will get our own APU that way if we decide not to buy the Pete out we will have the APU to go on the truck we do get.

We have a Pre-set for a Kraft load out of Newbury to Missouri, so am hoping its a nice drop and hook no waiting at docks.

Sure if your willing to run the miles and stay out for at least 5-6 weeks. Keep your your mpg above 6.2 and you will do ok with the fuel surcharge and keep pushing dispatch for pre-sets so there is no wasted hrs.

Your Newberry load should be preloaded.
Even if you get there really early on the load day it is usually not an issue. If it is not loaded then they will load early.
There is a trailer washout up the road on 121.
The lady there is very nice, there is plenty of parking, and free shower. Which is small but she keeps it clean.

The guard will ask you for a washout receipt at the gate.
You bringing the load to Columbia? If so, I have done that run a few times.

It really just depends on how long you want to be at home each time.
There is a L/O that lives near me that is home all the time. I have no idea who he/she is, I just see there truck at there house every weekend I go thru, and my wife says it is there every weekend.
Could be that they got on a really good dedicated run. That is my guess at least, I know they are not on Coors (they haul a reefer). I know there are 2 L/O on Kraft right now, I have no idea how they are doing though. I just know my fleet manager mentioned it. He usually will not take L/O on the fleet though, he feels bad if he does not have the freight for a good week.

I tend to get plenty of miles solo to take a few days off each month, as a company driver, and I would not run much more if I leased. That is one of the many reasons I would not lease though. You really need 3000+ every week. To get an average around 3200 a week, to make more than I do after the 25% of gross is put away for taxes.
Granted they will get the majority of that back at the end of the year.
