will central change their lease format if you request it??? with the way they have it set up the odds are way against you for success. ive been looking at lease programs for the last four months and centrals is about in the middle for success rate. they charge for more little nick-nacks then anybody else... if im leaseing a truck it should be used the way i want it to be used..

When your on your own you might want to use one along with your atlas. I use CoPilot 11 with my atlas myself.
hey dragonmatrix you gonna go out soon I see, you should hook with my trainer he's easy to get along with we should be in SLC next week let me know if I need to try and set it up.

I love having my laptop with me, though if you don't have a wireless card it is not as useful.
Before I got my card I used it whenever I had the points on my cards at the truckstops for a free night, otherwise it is about 4 bucks a night, or 30 dollars a month. And that is only good at that chain. Though I noticed some loves are using flying J internet, so those two you can go between, and my guess is Petro and TA are the same.

I use it for weather maps. Streets and trips, just for pre-planning. More to make sure of the miles and time, when I am pre-set a week in advance. Like I am now.

And also to come on here, and play games.

I picked up an AT&T air card, with out a doubt, they have the most outstanding coverage plan going today. Nobody else even comes close, you don't have to keep sweating the minutes, and you can't possibly download as much kb as they offer unless you try to download the NY public library. So far so good with Central for me, I have only met good people here. There are alot of us on the road, always a brother at every truckstop. If you have a problem with your truck, 24/7- it gets approved to get fixed. They are giving me good miles. I am going to work hard, drive safe, continue to deliver my loads on time , and see if I can get a dedicated route. That is my plan for now.

The more I read about Prime the worse it sounds.
The fees are just too high. For what you pay you should get a better truck.
At least Centrals extra fees for the most part are short term. Primes .04 a mile is forever, payments double what they should be forever.
Martin has better mileage rates, and higher rates for shorter runs. Also I believe they pay FSC on all dispatched miles, loaded and empty. If I remember right they may have it broken into regions also.

Hard choice between the 2. They haul mostly from the same contracts. Same equipment. Probibly close to same miles.
That is when the rate comes in, and more importantly the FSC. If Marten does in fact pay FSC on all miles, then you may have a winner.
Good luck in your choice.
