| OK thanks...will let him know. I wanted to ask also...How long can you drive and how long do you have to rest in between driving hours? I am just curious. Last edited by wolfden; 07.29.2008 at 03.43 PM. |

| Things you buy.... If you want too or not. 1 Lock kit, this includes a padlock and kingpin lock. It is like 85 bucks. 2 Load locks. They are like 30 each. Deposit I cannot remember. Like 350 or so. The money comes out weekly in small ammounts after you upgrade. You will not be charged for school or anything till you upgrade. Then all comes directly out of your check. On the payroll thing. I prefer direct deposit. That way I have my bank card with me (visa) and have access to money. If you don't opt for direct deposit the money goes on your com-data card. This is the fuel card we use at most stops. It will be on the checking side of the card I think. I cannot remember. I know that advances are on the savings side. ( card really does not have 2 sides. Normal card, just has several uses) Your spouse will not have access to the money on the com-data card though. So it is a pain on the road to get money to them unless you direct deposit. Driving time..... This is in the hours of service section on this forum. They are better at it, but gets confusing. You can drive no more than 11 hours within a 14 hour day. Meaning you have to be done with all driving within 14 hours of the time you start the day in your log book. You cannot work more than 70 hours in 8 days, unless you do what they call a 34 hour restart. This is when you stop and sit for 34 hours off duty. Then you start with a fresh 70 hours. I am in that situation now. I could only drive 9.5 hours today, 9.5 tomarrow, 5 the next day....ect. I am planning to take a 34 hour restart this weekend at home. Just because I got allot of backed up loads this week. So I am driving nights just to get where I have to be in time. Drive all I can, stop for 10, wait till after midnight to get more hours from my 8 days, and drive some more. |

| Thanks guys. He picked up his bus ticket today. He leaves Sat. at noon. Hey Dragon, did you get a trainer? You gonna stay living in Laughlin once you start? I loved Laughlin, just hated the heat!....lol. |
| ||||
| They are seeing if they have trainer in the area to stop by and pick me up, still waiting to hear. If not on the bus to SLC. We are going to stay here for a little while, would like to move to cooler weather though. Like the area but like you said, hate the heat !! |
| |||
| I thought you were already in SLC? We will be moving back to Laughlin if he passes everything. The kids miss it and his parents are there so they can help me while he's gone. We were doing the online practice tests earlier and he passed with only 1 question missed on a couple tests...lol...He hasn't even studied. They seem more like common since questions. |

| LOL, the kids wanna go back so we probably will. I love the view of the river, but hate the heat. Someday i would love to like in Oregon, Green, trees and rivers....lol...My husband is really nervous about pay. He doesn't wanna go and then be short all the time. He was offered a job in Vegas doing electrical again at $22an hour but he really doesn't wanna do construction anymore. Working in the heat there kills you. What do you all think? By the way, on Centrals loads, do you unload it or the customers? Last edited by wolfden; 07.30.2008 at 07.09 PM. |
