I thought break even was around 1780 miles or something. The payment is like 550 a week, then all the add ons. Before fuel I thought it was like 740 or so a week. These may be old numbers though. Going by those numbers you cannot make money at all solo. Because it is .85 a mile for the first 2800 a week. After that the charge is .05 per mile 2800-3000, .10 3000-3200, and .15 per mile 3200++ Granted, I would not lease a truck from them anyway, but there is no chance of success if you pay 1000 a week before fuel. At 3000 miles a week you will make much less money than I do as a solo company driver. Pre Tax I average over 4000 a month. Most of that I take home also, because the .08 per mile perdiem makes up for allot of the taxes. That over mileage staying with the truck sucks also. And the fact that the truck must be in %100 peak condition on turn in, or you will pay all repairs out of your maintance acct. I have seen guys pay allot of money for a few small scratches and dings. Then you figure to buy the truck you will have to pay what it is worth, minus the over miles. So lets say a 4 year old Pete. With no over mileage that truck has 504,000. It would be worth about 56 thousand. If that same truck averaged 3000 miles a week, for that 4 years. It would have 576,000 miles. And at todays rates would be worth about 47,000. Central would still charge you at least 50k for the truck to buy it, and subtract the over milage from that ammount. So using these numbers that would be about 3600. 50,000-3600= 46,400 due. My guess is that the buyout would be a higher price than that though. The truck prices are dropping like a rock at the moment. The Pete they have can be bought new on the lot right now for around 115k. Used with 500k miles they can be found for 45k. Asking prices in adds are higher in many cases, but they need to sell and will sell for that.

pay p/m Obviously the L/O's who do the best are trainers and or Teams, .85 CPM all miles driven and 100% fuel surcharge on Loaded miles, no surcharge on dead head miles. Jess that is LOW, i just checked with my Co's leasing dept. and their pay is .91 for all dispatched miles, that incl. D/H, plus FSC.

When you take the trk. payment and then add all the other stuff in(permits, takes, tolls, scales, qualcomm rental, insurance, etc... the weekly payment is right about 1000 dollars. They are nice trucks and the lease is pretty fair for the most part, but it is not cheap nor easy. Hometime is nill. Multiple breakdowns could send you packing. We made good money, but we were a husband wife team. I would recommend team driving or a least training for you single drivers. Take any business classes they offer and ask to talk to their experienced owner ops.

LOL, Dragon, just look for the 6' guy with a belly and goatee. His name is Wayne. He's nervous with not knowing anyone. He was offered a electrical job in Vegas but he turned it down to do the CDL. He wants this to work. He hates construction now. Hope you find him there. He's sure gonna be lonely Sunday with nothing to do....lol....What time you leaving Sunday? That's a long drive.

Well i'm gonna head to marten instead. I got to talk to 2 central drivers today and i guess they are taking a paycut in company trucks cause central pushed back their trucks to 62. Not my main reason but part of it, plus martens drop yard is only 6 miles from the house.
