Hi All,

Well here is my update - First of all, Im no longer with Central. Had a great trainer but he had planned to pickup his family a week after I was with him, they were out of town visiting family, so they wanted to trade me off to another trainer, so I said forget that, Im done. I got a local job here, so all is good and actually better then I would have been at Central (Pay Wise). Hope all you guys are doing well. Hope Wayne is doing good, from what I have read he is. Hey, 6pac, jj, chrome, lastkid. I will stay in touch via this board anyway. I will say I have made some great friends at Central, they really need to get their training program together though.

I really think that this is the problem that Central will have to reconcile: How do you deal with a driver who is so frustrated that he no longer cares if he works for your company or not? That is a very big problem.

OK her we go 12 hours sitting in liberal with 9.50 to drive when i got there not to get paid for the 10 let alone 12 BOO HOO made the drop on time only to sit there for 7 hrs. In the middle of the 7 I get sick I talk'n sick not even water would stay down missed my next P/U had O/M done there job in 3 hrs even sick I could have driv'n 95 miles picked up and stayed at the petro down the street. This run was only 575 miles with 2 1/2 days so I took small breaks along the way Central kept bugg'n me think'n I was late. I'm here now with 1 hour to spear. The strees of N/B is what brought my sickness. As of yet I have no load I'm in AR. and I WAS TO BE HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats up with that home is CA.
I feel better now eccept I'm along way from HOME.

Lastkid lets do a run to SLC and drop this piece of junk off LOL found a job in Silverthron CO. work'n for Waste Managment close to my old home anyhow.

Dragonmatrix sorry things didn't work out stay in touch and best of luck.

Dragon, I am sorry it didn't work out with Central. You are 100% right they really have to work on there training program.

Please keep in touch!

JJ has been offered a really good job in Australia with my brother in law driving, he would work 5 days a week, home every night and he would clear $1200-1500 week depending on how many loads he does, its looking better and better every day.

I'm very excited to hear about the new opportunities many of you are finding. Just keep up the good work and hopefully even more opportunities will present themselves.

Also, I think I may have gotten a little too negative lately, so I better make one thing clear:

Central (Simon back then) gave me a job when I needed one. I worked hard for them and gave them my honest labor and in return they never lied to me and they always paid me on time. It was a square deal all the way around.

I just wanted to say that because it is the reason why I want you all to have a good experience like I did.

Lastkid, Central gave JJ a chance as well, he first went to Stevens training, they sent him home after 4 days as his last stress test was 13 months before he went there, they told him he could come back after he got a new stress test.

So he called Central, went happily through there training with no problems, went to Conley and picked up a truck that had a few problems, got a newer Volvo a week later that had a few small problems that were fixed on the road, he then went L/O because we were told we could take our dogs in the truck as L/O, as it turned out we couldn't take the dogs in the truck they changed the pet Policy.

My take on that was, if we are paying $585.00 week on a truck then OUR Dogs will be going with us. We have two Pugs and a Chihuahua like there going to destroy the truck.

We would be still happy with Central if they would give us the miles to run every week.

JJ has been short hopped since Friday, they sent him a load this morning that was a little over 300 miles to pick up Today and Deliver tomorrow night, that would have been 2/12 days for 300 miles, Just not good enough when yo have a truck payment not to mention that little thing called being able to afford to eat lol.

Jess, I hope everything works out and he gets the miles he needs. Keep in mind these things will happen and all lease operators must be willing to bite it in the lip and duke it out when times are slow.

Thank you Hunter. I don't think the problem is a shortage of freight, its more poor planning on the load planners behalf, if this is what its like now what is it going to be like after Christmas????

Central Ref

I worked for Central Ref. in 2004. Maybe they have changed for the better. As for my experience with them... scumbags. They would tell you whatever you needed to hear (of course they all will)...but, even after employed they would straight out lie to you. I sold my home, moved across country and bought a house in NC because they told me they were opening a facility in NC where I wanted to live. Once there and working out of Atlanta, I was told by those in Atlanta they lied to me here in AZ because they needed drivers out east and lied to get me to move there. Scumbags. They never did open or build a facility in NC, and I could have saved thousands by just staying here a driving. The trailers were pathetic, dirty, bald tires (several times we had tire problems)... and they would not let you get #### fixed. Numerous breakdowns with refrigerated equipment that had us down for hours; Forced dispatch... Bad miles... in the 4 weeks with a trainer running team, we never had more than 2000 miles. One week we sat in the midwest for 31/2 days with no load, sat in CA for 3 days w/ no load. The whole idea with reefers is, you get more loads... you don't sit for 3 days at a time. The trainer was a moron... a fat, lazy slob who refused to shower for days.

I could go on and on... funny how things work out... my mom went into a coma so I stopped driving for Central, took care of her for over a year and now my daughter for the past couple years. Now am going to start driving again, and based upon what I see, read and have been told, will seriously consider Schneider Trucking or TMC back east, to get rolling again... after 2 weeks of retraining. At 50 something though, starting back on flatbeds might be tough. The school here tried to push me to Swift and I just laughed.
