| Well Wayne is still doing good. He called me from Gallop NM last night. They are heading to Springfield OH. He is in good spirits. A total change from the last trainer. Haven't seen many on here so everyone must be busy. |

| JJ was home for a 34hr reset, it was great to have him home, I just dropped him back at his truck, he is heading to Washington, delivers in the morning. With a fresh clock he should be able to run hard for the next 8 days, so lets hope Central Cooperate LOL and then he will be home for a few days off and I will go back out with him for a couple of months.

I could go on about the trainer from Hell, but won't. I would tell all of you, bail the hell out. That company is so bad my old school told me they will not send people there anymore. Don't believe they say they will not take students from schools... I bet schools are no longer sending them students like mine. inthewindaz

| It is posted in this area because even with there issues, they are still about the best starting company around. I have been driving on and off for a long time. But I was almost always local. With Central I finally went full OTR. I had to pay them for a refresher course to do this, but all companys need this. I speak my praises for central at times, and I speak negativly about them at times. It all depends on what it is in particular I am talking about. I was with them for well over a year. I made decent money and drove allot of miles. There were a few short weeks (less than 2500 mi) but normally I was 2800 miles+++ every week. Central has allot of miles and allot of freight. This is not a sit around and wait company, for the most part. Some will get bad dispatchers, and it will be the dispatchers fault if you are not moving. The freight is there. I would not lease from Central, or any trucking company. It is not a good idea to lease from the person that is booking your freight. -As to your comment that your school is not sending ppl there anymore. Central is not accepting students from any schools accept theres. So they would not take them if they sent them. -Your trainer was one of the bad ones, they are in every company. Lease ops should not train. -I am no longer with Central. I found a regional job. If it does not work out though, I will return to Central. They are much better than many of the larger companys, and I already know there methods. I left on very good terms, so rehire is no problem. -I would recomend them to anyone with a good work ethic, and good communication skills. I would not recomend them to anyone that could not treat dispatch with respect or that was poor at planning. If you are not good at these things then you will not survive there. -The first 6 months are the hardest time of your driving carrier. By leaving the company early, you did not learn many of the lessions that must be learned. You are thus going to be starting fresh at any company you go to. Though looking at your time driving, and the date you gave, you need a refresher anyway. None of the better companys will take you with that limited exp. unless you just messed up writing it. I would not recomend central to any driver with 2+ years exp. You can find a much better company at this point. Central is very picky who they hire, and the only reason I can see for an experianced driver to go with a starting company is that they believe they are easy to get on with. Drivers with 6 months to 2 years will be ok at central, though if you are clean I would go with the blue bird at that point. |

The first six months are the hardest, but after that it will be much easier. This is because after six months: 1. You will get to know the shippers and recievers and see the same people more often. 2. You will get to know the best fuel stops, showers, and places to park. 3. You will learn your way around the different cities. It is for this reason that the best advice I have been given is this: When you start your new driving job, promise yourself that no matter what, you will stick it out for at least six months. It is truly amazing how much easier it gets after that. |

If enough students put in complaints about the trainer in question, then Central would have to talk to the said trainer. My Fiance got lucky and got a great trainer and they ran as a team after three days, JJ had prior experience driving, Paul (trainer) paid for JJ's meals and when training was over he purchased JJ a Coleman Cooler and to this day we still talk to Paul at least twice a week.......Did Paul make some good money having JJ in his truck????? Yepppppppers he did. As Chrome said if you have a good working relationship with your DM they will go out to bat for you. If you're a smartwad then they are going to give you the crappiest loads they have. Central is one of the better starter Companies and as I have said many times you can deal with a lot of crap for 12 months and then you can move onto a company they pays better and has better Benefits.

| Wayne had a guy just like that his first 5 days. He dumped that trainer and told them to get him another. He is now happy with the trainer he has. He said he is very nice and helpful and doesn't complain the whole time. They were in Kingman Az last night for about 6 hours. I drove up and got him so he could come back and do laundry. He seemed really happy. They got in at 7:30pm amd i had to have him back at 2am. It's a 40 minute drive but was worth it. His trainer is gonna try to stop there every week so he can visit me and the kids. He is on a Dole dedicated. He has been showing him the best stops and places to each. He mentioned a BBQ place in ARK and said it was great. He is enjoying hid time on the road now. The first trainer kinda jaded him but his new trainer has made up for it. I just hope there will be a truck ready for him when he gets done training. |

| Wayne is heading to Texas now and then Springfield Ohio again. He hopes to be able to stop by again this coming weekend but depends on the load. I am so happy he has found a trainer who actually helps. After Wayne told him what the other trainer did, he was mad. He said that it probably wasn't the first time someone left him and they will probably start to look at him more closely. He said that chases drivers away. Wayne is getting more comfortable behind the wheel. He still misses a gear once in a while but is getting better. I am just glad he is enjoying it now like i knew he would. |
