Shes an oldie but a goodie! I avarge 10 to 12 hours a day. I pick up in Linden NJ (right now) and deliver up state NY ( where I live). Im paid hourly and loving it. Right now home every day and weekends off. This will all change in the winter. But what a way to live, drive a big truck for a good company, home every night, paid by the hour. They pay O/T after 52 hours. You get paid straight time for the 52. What else can I tell you's, HUMMM. Im sure you have questions and or comments. So go ahead and shoot!
I hope the job works out for you. Congrats.

My response is mute at best? Having been on both hourly and cpm, I know the difference. Both have good points and bad points. When I drove and got paid hourly, I got paid overtime after 40 hours. I've been down the cpm road too. Yes, you get stuck in traffic and get paid if your hourly and the miles aren't turning if your stuck and get cpm. As for being a student, I am. I moved to Salt Lake from Ohio in July 2006 and when I got my new drivers license they took my CDL away from me and informed me that I would have to go through a school or trucking company to get it in Utah. Before when I was in Ohio, I drove for 12 years so i'm not some new kid at this.

Im not crazy about time and a half after 52 hours myself, but at least I get paid. My last job I got comp time for any O/T (after 40 worked). But that dont pay the bills. Ok, theres better jobs out there. Im sure we all can do better. But this works for me. I turned in my time sheet today, 54.5 hours. 52 # my hourly wage and 2.5 hours # time and a half.
Plus, they leave me alone. I got to tell you, this is so much better then my last job. And before that I was out of work for 6 months.
