Jenn, you are calling me a liar. I don't take too kindly to being called a liar. Please quote a single lie out of my entire post.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. If a driver is going to have a better life, and the company is going to make money because I influenced a good driver with truthful facts, then yes, I don't have a problem with accepting some money out of Pete Hill's pocket. You act like they're going to deduct my bonus out of the driver's check!
Now if I were to state nothing but good things, stretch the truth about those things to trick someone into making a bad decision, and ignore any negative occurances, then yes, by all means call me out.
I've scored above 160 on multiple standardized I.Q. tests, have a very analytical mind, and would never own a truck unless I were driving as a team. If I were to own a truck it would only be with contracts where a broker gets a reasonable cut and I get the rest. I've told Ross, when he mentioned my leasing a truck, "Sorry, but if I were to lease or buy a truck, it wouldn't be with you guys. You don't pay enough." He hasn't ever broached the subject with me again, even though we talk fairly regularly.
As for talking to drivers face to face, yeah, not a bad idea, but the truth is, most drivers don't have good communication skills, many have no qualms about deceiving people to get a referral bonus, and most will only answer the questions you ask, instead of telling you what you need to know, as I have tried hard to do in my post.
Again, tell me where I even tried to stretch the truth, or as you put it (blow smoke)? Even as a owner/op, any team should be able to feed their family on what hill bros pays. I had a good friend, owner/op who was supporting a wife who didn't work, in the expensive area of San Diego, on Hill Bros pay. He left for health reasons at the age of 65.
Yes, your mechanic was incompetent, and I wouldn't trust the shop with my investment, but then again I have a 775 credit score that would allow me to buy a truck under much better terms than what Hill Bros offers. Glad you were able to find profitable work.

Doesn't matter he's still fishing for a recruitment bonus, the ban hammer will fall shortly.

    Richard,
I call them like I see them! A high IQ doesn't compensate for lack of common sense! You started out your posts calling others a liar I think it's only fitting for you to be called out! I addressed all of your points. What does your high IQ prevent you from reading properly! When someone is getting 1000- 1800 miles a week after seeing 2000-3000 miles a week that is a huge issue and red flag. When your truck is broke down more than it's running that is an issue. We started out with them out there was the typical you will see on avg 2500 miles. When he had his initial dispatcher they ran him hard when he got her perm dispatcher the miles started slowly trickling down to not being worth the time. He never turned down a load and always took repowers if needed. We had several face to face meetings with Abbie and dispatch with Abbie and Keith. We even had phone discussions with Abbie and Keith the problem is no one could say why the miles were not being given no one was unhappy with my husband's running he didn't turn down loads or over spend on fuel. The first truck we had was a mechanical disaster Chris swore up and down they checked it out, there is no way because prior to us getting the truck 3 separate people & or teams had reported the same issue and none of them were fixed! We asked for maintenance records before we decided on the truck they made sure they never got those to us with one lie after the next. The first week out in it, the truck almost killed my husband and pets because of fumes from the exhaust coming in the sleeper and cab he spent a week broke down on that, then when he came home for a 10 hr break he was 2 miles from our house the transmission went out (again something that the shop should have checked out and didn't) spent another 1 1/2 weeks down, next came the brakes. Certain things I can understand going wrong but, I know how my husband drives he is not hard on his equipment because it's his money maker! He also keeps up with all routine maintenance and keeps records. 10,000 in repairs on a truck that was supposedly checked out with in the first 2 weeks is nuts and then to claim you can't find the maintenance records, ya because you didn't do the maintenance! There was no reason with the money they took out every week and the miles on avg they say you would get why you could not easily bring home 700-1000.00 weekly. My husband's company he is with not after everything is said and done we still clear 700-1500.00 weekly!
Next let me address your claim of you having a 775 credit score regardless of score when buying a new truck unless you have a good history of being in business most places will not approve you for a loan which is the wall we hit because we have been in business 6 yrs with excellent scores unless you have bought previously you jump through hoops. So please save me your bs that your crap smells better than others let's be clears it stinks just the same! You seem to think you are better than the rest at least Jason comes off with sincerity and honest answers you are just another dip looking for referral bonus money!

You want to drive away people from one of the best companies to drive a company truck for, because you got a bad truck.
If I have a $120,000 asset that is insured (the truck is collateral), and a 775 credit score, a bank doesn't care if I can run a business. They'll get their money one way or another and their interest from the loan.
I'm glad that you want Pete Hill to maximize his profit, and to prevent me from benefiting from my completely honest efforts. Glad you appreciate Mack E-6's view of deleting informative posts that could benefit drivers because thetruckersreport isn't getting advertising money up front.
I guess other's making money is more of an issue to both of you than sharing useful information and improving people's lives.

    Richard,
Quit blowing smoke up people's butts! Seriously you need to get a grip. Doesn't matter if you have Secured collateral or not if you have never owned a truck they want everything but, a DNA sample to explain why they should give you a truck even with a 775 credit score! So please take your self righteous attitude and crawl back under the rock you came out from! Others making money excuse me it's all about others making money it's not free to run this forum they have bills to pay why should a self righteous horse's butt be treated any differently! If Pete Hill wants to advertise let him pay for it he makes more than enough money off of the drivers that work for him! Your efforts are anything but, HONEST!

Let me get this straight. He is joking. Everyone of us volunteer our services to help our fellow truckers. So appreciate what you have for free here instead of trying to downgrade our hard work. With the exception of the Job forums and classifieds the forums are advertisement free for everyone's enjoyment. Let's stop using the word referral and letting everyone know indirectly you are interested.

Hey konaboy, I was wondering about something.
It's that if your so smart why you leasing where you have no say so in what you make just what they give you to run?
Me I would go for percentage and pick my own loads and be able to move the truck if greener pastures present themselves(you all know how that goes +/-).
Just curious, if your doing so well, why the desperation for a referral?
But don't mind me I only scored ? K let's see I had that number somewhere. ....who cares.

Any more recent updates about Hill Bros? I drove with them for over a year local day-cab stuff and just left for health insurance reasons. I do miss driving and know Hill Bros offered real health insurance to lease drivers, but not company drivers. Just curious about how things were going there?

They have the miles, there is a guy,who is running with them now. They're going to be starting a thread about the lease operations.
