We do go through KC on our west coast runs, but unfortunately Calex only hires at either end of our freight lanes.

    Thanks for the reply John!

So you need to be in CA, FL, or NE USA areas?

That's correct. I don't necessarily agree with the policy, but I understand why they do it.

Seems to be making sense. Looks like they are able to run their people all over, get them the miles, AND get them home for regular home time. Calex seems like a good outfit! If I ever re-locate back to CA I will look them up!

    Thanks John for the info,

    be safe out there!

Looks like Calex is hiring out of Space coast and Daytona area. Saw an ad on CL advertising a need for a driver with 1yr experience.

That's correct KH. They have a ton of freight inbound and need to cover it. With Garylobo and myself running out west every other turn they are short a driver down here. How much time do you have driving? You might want to give them a call and see what they could do for you. I do know they will work with you if you don't have enough time in.

I do not even have 6 months. I'd apply if I had 6 months but I am taking a break from truck driving. I just thought I would confirm that it was not a hoax.

Getting ready to leave in the AM. I need to be in Hollywood at 9am to unload. I spoke to dispatch today and was told that I'm loading a load of lettuce going to Florence NJ. I've done this load 3 times over the winter and it is a real nice load. I'll check in during the week. Be safe and God Bless!

    Hey John!

Just spoke to Mort on the phone. He called to respond to my e-mail. Man, he is a REAL NICE MAN! Had a great talk with him. IF I were to re-locate back to CA, he may have something for me. Considering it. Miss the ocean! KC is too flat and their BBQ sucks!
I would NEVER had connected with Calex, much less ever heard of them if it was not for this blog. THANK YOU for you insights here, I sure appreciate it. Not many companies like Calex around anymore. None are perfect, but I can truly see that Mort and you both really care, and love your jobs, and that is rare these days. Guess it really boils down to just having a positive outlook!

Thanks, Thought I'd let you know!
