I've been working for Heartland now 5 years. This is the longest I've stayed with one company out of my 12 years of driving. I have a fleet manager that cares for his drivers and works very hard to get them home when they are suppose to be. My pay is excellent and so are the benefits. I was hurt for 9 months and on workmans comp. Heartland sent me to some of the best specialists and worked with me 100%. When I came back to work it was like I hadn't been off of work. They treated me like a human being. When there is a problem it is handled and not ignored. But the driver needs to make sure the problem is directed to the right person. I can say I am very happy with Heartland and hope to have many more good years with them

Re: Heartland Express Nice catch.... Since he does claim to be a driver, I see no reason to discount anything he offers, but always understand that there are always those who recruit for the bonuses offered when they get someone to sign on, and therefore all claims should be verifed to the potential employee's satisfaction.

What I'm afraid is going to happen, since free ads have been banned, is that we will see an increase in posts like the above, that will sound like they are coming from drivers. I can spot them a mile away, and I think that most drivers can too, and if and when I suspect them, I'm gonna point them out. Notice how I offered my earlier post, and there has been no response? Heartland is a company that has a 50/50 reputation. They wouldn't be for me, but that's not to say that others might not find them okay.... As I offered earlier, make all the necessary inquiries and listen CAREFULLY to the responses you get to determine if they are for you, and that goes for ANY job offer that a driver is considering. |

when I talked with Hearland they offered me $.50 up front and the more I talked they started backpedaling untill they were offering me $.40 at which point I snaped on the lady. She was really deserving it though. The attitude I was getting was way out of line. ANd I'm no wet behind the ears stearing wheel holder. I'v owned companies and trucks. been in the business as long as I can remember

Heartland is a great company to work for. I have never had any problems with them nor have i heard any professional drivers complain about them. .......now the not so professional drivers complain non stop but that's another story!

I have a friend who works for Hartland, pay is fine... this is what I don't like about the company They tell you when to shut down Example: He was in mass last week and was told he had to shut down because there was snow in the area. he called them up and told them there was no snow where he was at, they said that's their policy and he had to shut down even if it was not snowing where he was at. So if the weather is bad near you then you have no choice but to shut down. Fuel, they send you a fuel plan, you have to follow it to the"T", another words they tell you to get 80 gallons then you have to get 80 gallons. If you get more they will charge you for it. And keep in mind there are sometimes 2-3 fuel stops on a 600 mile route sometimes. If you can deal with that (he does) then you can make some decent money with Hartland.
