| Maybe I shouldn't tell this ...but I will. One of Mavericks accounts delivers to a plant I that worked at before coming back to Maverick (PMT in Surgoinsville, TN)...The first load I got going there I saw that it said on the work assignment "Do not call consignee for directions"...that was all it took and I know EXACTLY the person at PMT who is responsible for that being on the work assignment (I know everybody there from the president to the cleaning lady and they know me...Surgoinsville is a very small town). I called and asked for directions just for meanness...LOL, and purposely got on his nerves playing dumb just because I knew I could. Just before he started cussing...I told him who I was and he said "dammit, I knew I knew that voice...when did you start driving again???" He's a great guy...just doesn't tolerate BS very well at all. He was my boss when I drove for the company that takes PMT's parts to be tempered in Lansing and North Vernon. I worked for a trucking company (East Tennessee Truck Lines)...but I took my orders from Don at PMT. He got me the job at PMT when I needed a break from driving, its VERY hard to get a job there and its the best place within 50 miles of home to work. EDITED TO ADD: I should mention...I got laid off from PMT just before Christmas last year, its an automotive related company and they took a hard hit from the economy and all...they are booming again now though, they called me back to work about a month or so ago...knowing I was driving again. I told them I better stay where I'm at for now...Brandon's reply was "Well...if you ever need a job, you got one right here"... The point being, I left on excellent terms and upheld my end of the deal with Don for putting in a good word and getting me the job. A bit off topic...but the others are correct, go through proper channels at Maverick. Last edited by Ridgerunner665; 09.20.2009 at 10.04 PM.. |

| The OOR report is run on sunday on the qual comm. The thing is that it doesn't account for being under dispatch with the load that drops on monday. I was always in the top 1/3 rd of the fleet of 1500 trucks for fuel mileage and in the top 10 of my FM's board. I cut thru the woods all the time. I used a GPS on truck shortest route. I always got good fuel bonuses. I ran 60 mph empty and 65 loaded. Seldom did I hit 70 unless time was a factor or I was going home. I avg 7 mpg. Will be loads and terrain that will drop your fuel mileage, but you can work at it and keep your avg up. Maverick had one of the best lease deals out there, but I would not consider it at this point. I also kept track of my own fuel mileage every time I fueled.

| Just messin with you driver.... ![]() You pretty much nailed it on your answers. I forgot there in the end I did cut back to 62 loaded. They kept raising the expectation of the fuel mileage and I wanted to keep cashing in on the bonuses.
