I just recieved a dissapointing call from them. They stated they could not hire me because of past employment. I am working on this issue because I do know the company that prevented me from getting on with Trans-Am. I was wondering does anyone know who I can talk to (Besides the actual company that blacklisted me!) that I can put in a formal complaint stating that they gave more information than they were supposed to. I have been informed several times that when propective employers contact past employers that they are only allowed to state that the person worked for them and how long that person worked for them. I know that this is not happening at this company. They booted me out on a bad rap. Now they are telling all my prospective employers about it and now i can't get ANY job nonetheless a trucking job because of it! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!:biggrin_25513:

I just recieved the call from Trans-Am. They were extremely professional and helpful. They told me the information I needed. If you do not have any temporary agency work and are intereted in them I highly reccommend them. Helen at recruiting was great. Please mention my name Lou Pf. that reccommended you. She'll probably get a kick out of it!:yes2557:

Bill drove for them last year for a little over 6 months. I really can't say too much bad about them. We had "the grass is greener at Celadon" dream and he left TA.:biggrin_25511: Well to be honest, once we did that we realized a lot of the stuff we took for granted at TA was actually a perk or a benefit. They never said Boo about idling or APU once he got his T660. We had prepass, EZ pass, Pike pass, you name it. As a company driver, everything was covered. In retrospect, we pretty much learned the EXTREMELY hard way that we should have stuck it out there and if we had, he would have almost 2 years OTR with one company instead of 3. We had our share of lean weeks, but we always had a paycheck every week and most of them were decent, a few very good. After our experience at Prime, the grass IS definitely greener at TransAm, or at least it was last year! Oh one thing, home time sux!!! Don't ever expect to get home on time or be there for very long. We never had more than two entire days at a time actually out of the truck. The first "day" of home time we usually got home after midnight after one of their silly swaps. Then two days "Off" followed by back in the truck by 8 am the following morning and usually on the way to Buffalo to get a load going west.

I got turned down by them about 2 years ago over "stability". They dont understand something called "at will employment", and "right to work". At will employment means they can fire me, for any reason, or no reason at any given time. In turn, you or I could quit for any reason, or no reason at any given time. No explanation due. Bad thing about trucking, is usually the company will make up another reason for why you quit. Other than what was actually true. I was really interested in TransAm at one time myself. But, know not to try there again for a while. What are the specifics of your case on the company that blackballed you? I mean you said they did, but never said how exactly. You said the booted you on a bad rap. What exactly was that rap all about?

Well Transam will push the lease hard, and I do mean hard. If you can hang tho, company is not that bad. Check out the other threads on TA by using the search function. I have tried to pos t both and the good and bad.

If you can hang till the 6 or 7 th month stage and have proved yourself, you will get the miles and they do have them.
